Imagine how long 20 years in that sim must have felt like then!He aged before he died. Remember, for an android, 0.68 seconds is an eternity.
They did that in all of his scenes (even in episode 10). That's why is hairline never looked consistent. I have to say that the hairline of his wig looks completely fine. It's just too round in shape.Pulling down his hairline digitally, was overdone the untouched hairpiece looked less distracting![]()
He doesn't need improvement. Let him be him![]()
Data can age in appearance
Distinct ImprovementOkay, I tried to improve Data's look in episode 1.
In case it can't be watched on mobile devices:
Even Brent thinks Data should not age. it was established in an Episode that it was possible, but it was never further cemented or followed up on, in All Good Things he hadn't Aged in the future, his patch of gray hair was essentially a punchline because he couldn't naturally age, so deliberately colored his hair. the concept of Data aging is not something that actually stuck. Bottom line, Brent says they had convinced him that they could de-age him! so he said yes, then during filming they tell him they can't afford to. cruddy business, and seriously disrespectful thing to do. If Brent Spiner feels that Data needed to be de-aged, I dare not try to argue against it, and in regard to recreating his look from Nemesis, it's an inconsistent and sloppy job, it's a dodgy VFX job, and in that regard, it does need improvement, It doesn't take a genius to pay attention to what Data's hairline is supposed to look like, it's hard not to interpret it as a lazy or careless attempt. I thought the above Improved version is considerably better, and ironically it's subtle, that's whats so frustrating, is that the it really only required someone to care about making him look correct.
It absolutely was not too much to ask for them to get his hair right, or to decrease the protrusion of Brent's Jaw on the left side of his face which has become more prominent with age. it's just digital touchups, it does not require a 200 Million Dollar budget to fix that stuff. unfortunately it's obvious corners were being cut on a ridiculous level, and dare I say embarrassing level.
He aged quite a lot while he died, though XDBut not when he's dead. That's why they chose to make him look like in Nemesis (it just didn't work so well).
Same here. It served its purpose within the story. They did a good job, but Data's look wasn't a complaint for me to start with. The man is 71, so the show did just fine. IMO.
