Unpopular Trek opinions game

Here's a couple of unpopular opinions I don't think I've mentioned in this thread before:

-I don't like the look of the Voyager very much. It always looked like a shoehorn or a garden spade.

-While I usually love Jerry Goldsmith's music (His TMP and Planet of the Apes scores are amazing), I've never cared for the VOY theme. It's not heroic or majestic like the TMP/TNG theme, and it never really seems like it gets going. It's just kind of... there.

I don't like the Intrepid-class design either. It just looks completely generic and uninteresting.

As much as I like the Sovereign-class design, I hate that it started a trend of eliminating the saucer/neck/stardive designs in Star Trek.

Here's my unpopular Trek opinion.

Star Trek Into Darkness was actually really good.

I've always said that it was a really fun, entertaining movie until the split-second before Spock does the "Khan" yell. Then it becomes, quite literally, unwatchable for me. Like, it gives me a headache it's so bad. So I'm not sure how I feel about it as an overall film. I love about 3/4 of it, and then I detest the last 1/4 (except the epilogue that takes place a year later).

There's also pieces of the plot that make absolutely no sense, but I'm pretty forgiving of that.

An economy of language is fine. But Edith describing pretty much exactly what we see on Star Trek every week is just dumb.

"And then, these men who go out into space will occasionally fight a lizard man called a 'Gorn.' But a telepathic alien in a sparkly toga will break up the fight before the guy who looks just like that fellow in the red plaid shirt directly on my right can finish the Gorn off..."

The Metron is not wearing a toga. Here is a link to a Wikipedia article about togas:

Currently watching Season 7 of DS9 and I'm so freaking thankful that unlike TV Netflix has the option to skip through all those awful, superfluous Vic Fontaine scenes.
That's one aspect of DS9 I never liked, the show's romance with the early 20th century.

I think the main issue with STID was that the constant TWOK references overshadowed a lot of the good stuff.
Ehhh...yes and no for me. On the one hand, yeah its referencing what is considered a far superior film. On the other hand, I'm fully invested in these characters, this relationship, and (aside from the "Khan" yell) I'm not thinking about another film when I'm that engaged.

That’s fair. I just feel like I and a lot of other fans might have been kinder to it at first if they’d downplayed the Khan references a bit.

Spock yelling "KHAN!!!!!" in Into Darkness was the best scene in the film.

EDIT: April Fool's!

The Alternative Factor is entertaining.

Whereas What Are Little Girls Made of is a slog because of the muddy colors and lack of investment in Chapel.

I would like DS9 even more if Ezri had replaced Jadzia sooner. I greatly preferred Ezri's character and found her more interesting.
Plus the character had potential they couldn't exploit in just one season.

I'm the opposite. I enjoy that era and style of music and I'll take every Vic Fontaine scene every day and twice on Sunday over any Bajoran religious scene/episode.
