Even at his most "allied" they showed him as moustache twirling evil, like blowing up the Klingons when his Klingon holoprojector wasn't working in Apocalypse Rising. Right in Season 5.
BULLSHIT.
Sexy Soji learns how to do a mind meld?

That's exactly how the hell it works. It's literally just electrical impulses.

Also, regular Soji is sexier. So there.

Meh. Weakest ep thus far.

Organics: Fuck, they're gonna wipe us out. Let's wipe them out first.

Synths: Fuck, they're gonna wipe US out. Let's wipe THEM out first.

Picard: Kumbaya, my Lord, kumbaya... (I wonder - can I play that on my Ressikan flute?)

Soji: I should be siding with my homies, but I was human for so long...er, that is to say, 37.1394 months...that I'm torn.

Jurati: I'm a hot mess. Still. Ever.

Narek: I'll do whatever it takes to survive. Other than boffing my creepy-ass sister.

What are Sutra's motivations? Power? She was the one who hurt her fellow synths by releasing Narek.

Also Narek can kill an android so easily? This doesn't strike Soong as odd? I thought androids activated and were super strong and super fast when in danger.
exterminate organic life so that only robots exist

Dukat was an ally, and on relatively good terms with most of the station's crew, throughout S4 and S5. He definitely wasn't depicted as a "Bad Guy".

"Good terms" is a stretch, our heroes may have tolerated him at best. That show was all about blurring the lines between traditional "enemy" and "ally".

Kinda like me and my neighbor don't get along, but our wives are friends and our kids are friends, so he helps me change my brake pads and I help him do his taxes, but it's all an act to keep the peace.

I was gonna rate this an "8", but I changed it to "10". Why? Because this thread is really pissing me off.

You're learning. ;)

I didn't give this episode a 10 but, when I usually do, they hate it for the same reason I love it. I began to notice this some time toward the beginning of DSC's second season. It was going on during the first season too, but I hadn't picked up on the pattern yet. But I think not being on the same page as everyone who decides to be vocal is a good thing.

Gave it a 7. Not impressed with the giant flowers, hippie androids, android mind melds, etc. A step in the wrong direction.

The concept of an intergalactic alliance of synthetics is cool, but why do they have to be evil?

The way the story is developing makes the Romulans look like the wise ones.

It went in a different direction than I hoped it would... overall, I think we will look back at this episode differently after the second part, which I hope will deliver big time...

The wording that Picard should have used was ‘Poor Hugh, it must have taken appalling brutality to turn such a gentle soul to the thought of open rebellion’, that would have made more sense that ‘turn such a gentle soul to violence’.

I wish this episode could have been a little longer so we could have seen more of what was happening on the Borg Cube.

I think Elnor is having trouble choosing between Picard and the Cube, I think he actually fulfilled his ‘hopeless cause’ with Picard (rescuing Soji) so I do think that the Borg/Seven need him more now.

Star Trek has never been this engrossing. I hung off every word.

The androids reminded me too much of them frolicking sex people in ‘Justice’ though. And I didn’t really need to see yet another Soong.

Also we’re clearly being set up for Android Picard

- suddenly JL reminds the gang that He Doesn’t Have Long to Live
- a blank Android ready to go
- ‘have you got mind transfer figured out yet?’

Everyone still seems to trust Jurati even though they know she was mentally compromised. I guess maybe Sutra would see it, but why is anyone else trusting her?

If these higher synthetics have the the power to wipe out organic life why haven't they? So the biologicals can make more synthetics to murder if said synthetics can't/don't find their octonary system voicemail?

The more they explain the dumber this gets.

Perfect summary!

Seven: I still don't have any purpose in this plot, but I'm hot as hell and get some dumb standard badass lines!

Elnor: Look, I'm still cute and endearing! Be touched by the pureness of my heart! Why are we in this plot?

Cause she's cute and funny and said she wouldn't do it again and also, it's been done on Trek before. Oh, and because...
"She thought she was doing the right thing" (Soji). Which applies to every white supremacist or ISIS murderer, but hey...

I took the intergalactic alliance as an alliance of survivors. They're not 'evil' as much as narrow-minded. In Sutra's monologue, her language is very absolute, suggesting that all the species of synthetics in the alliance had similar enough origins that they cannot conceive of peaceful coexistence between organics and synthetics.
