The box art for the STO ships shows a few more ships. One of the Romulan Command Cruisers, the Europa Class, Buran Class and a Jem’hadar Vanguard Carrier

I really hope that they do the Exeter class and Verity class. Heck, the Sojourner class too, why not

The Probert Ambassador is an excellent model and really does credit to the original design. Sadly, however, when you get it, you will notice a rather conspicuous lack of windows having been painted on the upper portion of the secondary hull just below the neck. They missed that for some odd reason and it looks quite glaring if you're trying to observe up-close detail. Other than that, it really is quite nice.

    some new previews today...

for the discovery collection there's the 4-nacelle section 31 ship (if you're into that sort of thing):

and the ba'ul fighter (which actually looks kind of cool to me):

    also here's a preview of the XL 3-nacelle enterprise-D.

Funny how they come from two vastly different species, yet have nearly identical design aesthetics. And people think John Eaves is self-derivative! Conversely, though, I do kind of like them.

I was about to remark about how it is incredible they both share the same exact paint job.

I might have put my own foot in my mouth - are either/both of these designs from Eaves?

i think he left the show by the time these were developed and these are ryan dening designs. dening did the stealth ship, i assume he did the other section 31 ships. honesty these look more like his work than eaves' stuff anyway.

Not fan of the Section 31 ships? To me they are some of the better Discovery designs. They’re just in the wrong era.

It still works, just move the emphasis. "And people think John Eaves is derivative!"

Though I suspect the real culprit, the identical surface treatment, was either from the VFX team or EM. Not that I blame them, "black object in space" is a tough thing to make look good, I wouldn't bother trying to do it twice in a row, either.

i love the stealth ship, i think it’s one of disco‘s best designs. it’s the spruce goose meets the USS vengeance, i love it. but i do not like the larger section 31 ships. they’re just kitbashes and the proportions are all weird and i just can’t.

Pictures on facebook show that the saucer of the The Cage Enterprise is actually a new mold, but they nevertheless gave it the same bridge module as the TOS version. :wtf:
The nacelle end caps are new as well, though I'm pretty sure they're not the ones from The Cage either, but the WNMHGB version...

The Cage caps were painted opaque red (not translucent) with the metallic spikes added on the tips. It looks like the model's domes are transparent, like before, but do possess the spikes - so 50% for that. The rear nacelle end caps will be the other deciding factor, which should be the grids, but I haven't seen rear-view photos of it yet. The saucer for this does appear to have the correct tall bridge dome (at least, the photo I saw), but am unsure if it's with a first pilot or second pilot paint job. The dark gray rings at the port/starboard edges around the formation lights are incorrectly missing and don't know if it has the duck-egg blue paint job on the neck separating the two hulls like the Cage version did. It's probably going to be a model that's 60% to where it should be but better than a simple repaint of an existing mold like the ISS Enterprise was.

The bridge looks exactly the same as on the regular model to me.

And according to the comparison pictures here, the EM model has the Where no Man has Gone Before end caps, not the The Cage ones.

Well, hang on, the post you made here shows a picture of a correct bridge dome and painted bussards, which as it should be. Has something changed?

And you’re right, they got the nacelle rear pieces incorrect.

Well, yes, that picture (render? who knows) they used to advertise it has always shown the correct version, but the actual model doesn't looks like that.
