To be honest, it's been a while since I wrote them! :)

But weren't the portal the Iconians, not the Tkon?

Thanks for the kind words, btw. I still remember the day those Q books hit the New York Times Bestseller List. I went running through the halls at work, waving the fax from the Times. Really!

Yeah, it's easy to confuse the portal with the gateways

The portal is the guardian of the Tkon on the planet, where the Enterprise is trapped together with a Ferengi Marauder in orbit during "The Last Outpost".

Always wondered if the guy in the episode was meant to be a hybernating survivor, a kind of hologram or something else ;)

These threads are always too long to really participate in like I would when I was on AOL in the 90s.

Anyway, who is the 4th Dahj alike? If the synths are all twins, shouldn't Jana have a twin as well? Who thinks we see her this season as opposed to a surprise later in the show?

That, or maybe...
she'll do penance by staying on the synth planet to work with them.
That's also an option but it will require the planet to exist for her to do so.

I don't think the planet is going to be around for long, now that everyone seems to know where it is they will never be left alone.

The Zhat Vash could be correct but its too late and the big bad turns up and slaps the planet.

Alternatively the Synths could have a means to move the planet like the Tkon did, where the Tkon synths themselves, which means the Zhat Vash have really screwed up.

I think Soji is going to end up on the planet with the beacon at some point, will she come to the same conclusion as the organics did.

According to one of the DS9 Companion books, the writers of that DS9 episode with Iconian gateway confused them with the Tkon, but it was fixed before the episode was filmed.

The guarding of the Tkon last outpost was name Portal. That same planet had continuous lighting storms and was able to cause any starships that it thought that a threat was hold in place and drain of power.
Which means, Soji home planet is a Tkon outpost, but we don't know it guarding name.

Those are the ones you gotta look out for

Even Khan got such an alternative option to conventional trial and imprisonment...and Jurati is no Khan. It seems like a very Star Trek way of resolving that situation.
Then again, people got sent to a penal colony for less. (Maquis anyone?)

Trek is like the bible in the sense that you will find precedent for (almost) anything... and also for the contrary.
