Is anyone else sick of these kinds of questions? Crying is more than justified for the things she experienced, like reuniting with her mom, finding out Leland's role, etc. It'd be bizarre if she didn't cry.

The problem is not that the things that are written to happen to her make her cry, but that so many cry-inducing things are written to happen to her...

Singling out a character for a series of traumatic events is a Trek tradition. "Torture O'Brien" episodes were a DS9 staple, and Harry Kim copped even worse.

Yes, emotions are threatening to me as well.

A show where a human raised by Vulcans and is combating differing trains of thought would likely be subjected to near-incessant situations. It's part of the core of drama, whether audiences tire of it or not.

With the shorter seasons, it does stick out more now. I think Martin-Green is a good actor, but to me, the writing has bordered on woeful for the character. It feels like the writers still don't have a real grasp of the character.

Hopefully, season three will change all that, and the talent and money involved will actually get to shine on the screen.

These two quotes are the entirety of your postings here at the TrekBBS.

Seriously, did you join here just to post stupid crap like this?

No not at all, I’ve been a fan of Star Trek since I was 7 years old (46 years) for me as it is for you, it is a form of escapism. I just think by now having been brought up by vulcan’s she shown her human side and now needs to get a grip and kick some arse ! (Season 3 is worse for the tears)

They absolutely loved trolling us with Kim. Every week they would built up your hope that he might get killed off but then no they would crush your dreams at the last second

Yes, because "Is anyone else sick of Michael crying all the time?" is soooo constructive.

On the other hand, I'm sounding overly harsh. Welcome to the TrekBBS. Perhaps once you get a little more acclimated to this place, you'll fit in a little better.
