DS12 is just a random name drop that they can ignore and not worry about not showing, like DS5. If they said DS9 and then ended up not showing it at all, there’d be riots on the street!

I wouldn’t still discount the big bad being Control
Control may finally get to Discovery in the future (in like year 4000/5000) and erase all known humanity (as seen by Zhat Vash, Mama Burnham and Spock)

Excellent episode was my intial star trek fan boy reaction, I will be honest though with some time having passed my initial score was way too high, this was with hindsight for me the worst episode of the season.

Rafi is a good character and Hurd who I did not know prior to this show is an excellent actress with a smile that lights up every scene she is in but they do not give her much to work with so it was good to see she got some screen time this week.

Narissa likewise I felt lit up this episode but again like Rafi they give the actress little time, she has featured in what 10-15mins? from 8 hours.

Rios, wtf really, I would have wrote that, then I would have decided it was crap and tossed it in a bin and I would write the worst show ever.

Seven Stealing a Borg cube should have been epic, like dark frontier or something, but it wasn't because they decided to scatter what little action we got in this episode all over the place.

Favourite moment is a toss up between Seven merging with the cube + Narissa killing the drones, whom once upon a time could survive in space or Rafi and the holograms.

Worst part was seeing Picard sat at the table with the crew having left two good men he got involved behind to die.

Yep, not even a line from him about how Elnor and Hugh were doing. Elnor in particular is very young and Picard was massively irresponsible in exploiting someone who has arguably 200 years of Romulan life left in him. If Picard wanted a warrior, Worf would have welcomed an honorable death fighting evil Romulans. Picard wouldn't need to worry about Worf's danger like he would with others because Worf himself would welcome an honorable fight, and even an honorable death if that's what happened.

Is Picard being assigned to the Reliant canon before this episode? It was cut from the original airing of The Measure of a Man but added back for the blu-ray. Are those kind of changes plus the stuff added in TNG-R canon?

I don't see why anything in TNG-R wouldn't be considered canon

Oh ignore me I'm watching an entirely different series. Last week I made a similar listening error with something. :techman:

Whatever show I'm watching, I'm enjoying. It doesn't help that I've had the sound turned down on the TV when my husband is in bed still, or gone to bed at night.

This is what closed-captioning is for. :)

Another problem I just realized is that Picard didn't even mention the fact that Commodore Oh is Romulan plant. And he has all the evidence he needs to prove it with Dr Jurati; but no, not a single word about her; just a tableslapping in celebration that He's "right".
You do realize that we came in the middle of that conversation between the two of them?
Jean-Luc may have started with the Oh revelation.

As it was, I was too afraid to go in public with pitchfork in hand.
Wrap yourself in Toilet Paper, apparently they're going to stop making it soon cause it's a sure fire way to stop the new virus. ;)
At least one would think so, people are buying it up like it's gold.

I've seen a lot of crazy things, but folks fighting over packages of TP just takes the cake.

Went to the local Wally World this morning to get tissues and dog food.
Watching that mayhem, You'd a thunk it was the end of times.
Good Golly.

Okay, I can buy that. But here it's just used for laughs and makes it sound like dialogue written for a millennial, not an old lady. .

Trust me. Old people curse. Heck, Helen Mirren has famously stated that if there was one thing she would tell her younger self, it would be to tell people to "fuck off" more frequently.

If it's good enough for Helen Mirren, it's good enough for Admiral Clancy! :)

It's funny to her this Classy Lady do it also...

(right at the end...)
