Picard post-Enterprise must have been a serious and irritating pain in the ass to any officer of an equal or higher rank.
Exactly. Everyone was expecting that there'll be a surprised Borg invasion, Seven becoming the new Borg Queen, etc. But you're absolutely right. Many of us are duped .
Many of you. Not me, goddamn it. I didn't buy it for a second. And I CERTAINLY didn't buy that Control theory bullshit. I'm glad Chabon didn't go there.
It sounds impressive. On the other hand, we've previously had the TKon Empire; who piloted entire star systems, and they mostly all died out when their sun went supernova.
She could actually get away with not telling them that part directly, the others could then work it out from the rest of what she says. Don't Ask, Don't Tell. EDIT: Ah yeah the EMH knows. Off with her head!
No! I never got the hate the fandom threw at her anyway.. I also loved: - You want an apology? - No, I want a squadron. Badass admiral and badass Picard! I really hope they won't reveal her to be in on the conspiracy; I never got that impression from her. Yes, I think that is part of what bothered me about Nepenthe, too. Even though I liked many of these scenes and the TLC Picard got and Kestra and so on. AAAND... Jean-Look even got a classic Picard speech! Yes. And maybe they are saving Riker for next season. Or maybe they will both show up. Also, eyeroll of the week: Of course something would prevent them from dropping Jurati off on DS12.
Good for the EMH. I hope Emmet had a few sweary things to contribute to the group hologram therapy session as well.
And earlier someone called her ‘Colonel’ Heh so that is what Chabon meant on Instagram last week, “Would it surprise you if she were both?” I don’t think it’s a sovereign. Or if it is, it’s a refit design, but there are a few differences. It happened last episode. It was also shown in the previously on.
This episode reinforces my expectation that whatever happens in the finale will be setting up an ongoing quest for the series. Ancient empire that can move suns? Sounds very big, very sci fi, very Star Trek...and could play into Picard's interest in archaeology to boot. They might be going for something like "The Chase" should have been if they hadn't crammed it into a normal 45-minute episode.
It screams Sovereign to me, it would definitely have to be a refit though. Good chance we will see it at some point via flashback or the Enterprise E.
So I wonder if that squadron Clancy had is going to show up in the final episode some how. Like La Sirena can’t take on all those ships. Either that or the Borg Cube lmao
You don't fight it. You talk to it. I think that Picard will come face to face with these Aliens and Data and Soji will be the examples he uses to show that not all synthetic life is inherently evil. I think Data sacrificing himself willingly to save Picard will be something that no other synthetic has ever done for biological being. It will be key to making the aliens understand and accept a peaceful solution.
I guess they are the species that is mentioned in this episode. And that both, the Tkon and the Romulan Star Empire, were destroyed by a supernova might not be a coincidence...
If as suspected they don't make it to the Starbase its highly likely that a fleet will be sent to find them. Could be the Borg cube instead or as well. I don't think Clancy can afford to piss around any more, not if she wants to stay an Admiral.
