I thought the implication was that even the Borg couldn’t handle seeing what she had seen in the secret message.

He probably kept his former Captain's dots as well as his own.

Maybe he kept all his rank dots from the Academy on?

Having gone to an All Boys Catholic Military School for 5 years, I kept all my rank pins from PVT to Captain.
Still have them in a box of my own around here somewhere.

The one thing I’m having a hard time with is why Clancy is suddenly on Picards side. What changed? For her I mean.

Sorry--quite right. Was the Romulan theme from Balance of Terror. I got overloaded with stimuli!

That explains one black pin each, assuming you simply get one more with each promotion, but 2 additional ones remain...

Forgive me, but did we not already know this? It was stated in the TNG episode "The Measure of a Man". He served on it with Lieutenant Nakamura, who later became admiral.

Could be their version of the Sovereign. They like to mess up ships.

What, indeed? Are we quite sure she was being straight up with Picard (...or whether it was even Clancy he was speaking to?)

Who's to say Oh isn't playing him? :shifty:

That scene wasn’t in the original episode, they added it back in years and years later when they remastered the series.

I believe this is only stated in the separate extended cut version of the episode that was on Blu Rays, not in the one that originally aired. :)

Not if the dots are preconnected.
    Or perhaps one set broke?
Or maybe he just had extras in case he lost some?

A civilization that can create a star system out of 8 different suns sounds incredible scary. They must be super powerful. How do you fight that?

You’d think they saw a Medusian with the way those Romulans acted.
A bit disappointed they had the Rios backstory connected to the Synth thing. I was hoping that was something unrelated that could be explored in later seasons.

I'm thinking that the original folks who did all that are not around anymore and we are just going to see the multitude of Androids that have taken over.
Even so, I wouldn't want to mess with them.

Didn’t the T’Kon Empire move suns? Probably on the same level as the chaps who created the Dyson Sphere.
