good point. I could never get used to injections, I think. I'm rather proud of being curageous enough to prick my finger several times a day now. I used to almost faint when I accidenrtially pricked me when sewing. It's amazing what powers you develop if you have to.

My BF used a thing that he stuck on/in his arm, he could check his Gloucester level 100 times a day or more if he wanted to.
It was called a Libre, I think.
You just stuck in onto your arm on the back of your upper arm, it had a really tiny little needle and it stayed on for a week at a time.
There is no way he could have been jabbing his finger.
He started walking on a treadmill I gave him and he is just more careful how he eats and his A1-c level went down.:techman:

Yeah, I mean, when the choice is inject insulin or die you just kind of have to get used to it.

Freestyle Libre. They are great, especially for people with type 2. I used one for ten days while I was waiting on my Dexcom, and it was definitely nice not to have to do finger sticks.

I prefer continuous glucose monitors (CGMs), because the low alarms have literally saved my life, and they give me the confidence to keep my sugars lower, especially overnight, without fear of deadly hypos. But the amount of data could be overwhelming to some people and I don't suppose they have a huge benefit over the Libre for most type 2 diabetics, unless they're on insulin.

Got the vitamin D, and hoping it helps, but I found out the most likely culprit: I tested positive for a recent mono (glandular fever) infection. This tracks since I was sick with "a weird cold" in late December. Good news is that, plus the B deficiency seem to be all that's wrong with me, less good news is that you can be fatigued from mono up to six months after the infection. Ugh.

Be very careful with viamin D.
It's very easy to overdose it.

I meant to type vitamin B, I was referring to the B12 injection. I do also take prescription strength vitamin D, though. People with autoimmune diseases like type 1 are often vitamin D deficient. Though there's some debate within the medical community about the ideal dose of vitamin D, most agree it should be at least 20 ng/mL, but endocrinologists recently made a case that it should be between 30-60 ng/mL minimum. Mine was 6, lol. Even on prescription strength supplementation I'm still below 20.

Someone finally made a diabetes/junk food meme that's actually funny and not just ignorant BS!

This high is totally worth shooting up for.

I’m decidedly annoyed with my asthma at the moment. While I haven’t lost my voice, my sides are hurting.
ETA: My voice is extremely weak, and I don’t dare increase my inhalers any more than I have. And the smoke is back.
