TOS fight music is iconic. TNG fight music could be pulsating and even creepy(the confrontations between Riker and Worf and the parasite-infected Admiral Gregory Quinn as an example) but I never find myself humming it or looking for clips containing it on YouTube.

You know it strikes me that the Gorn should be about the same size and shape as a velociraptor, in that case, he would have cut Kirk to pieces before the latter could lift a finger.
It was an overweight and out of shape Gorn?

Seems like the portal technology aboard the Artifact is a miniaturization of a sort of the transwarp conduit technology that existed until at least Voyager's return to the Alpha Quadrant in 2378. At some point the Borg found a way to apply transwarp technology of some kind to drone-sized gateways that can be installed aboard cubes.
Sounds more like Einstein-Rosen bridge, i.e. a wormhole.

How is the Sikarian gateway technology in VOY categorized and described? I haven't looked on Memory Alpha so for all I know it was never given an official description for how it was supposed to work.

From Memory Alpha:

The spatial trajector was a technology utilized by the Sikarians, a species native to the Delta Quadrant, which allowed them to transport to planets up to forty thousand light years away. Operating on the principle of folding space, the trajector utilized antineutrinos as a catalyst for the space-folding process. It then created a neutrino envelope around the object or person to be transported, and used Sikaris' mantle of tetrahedral quartz to focus and amplify the trajector field. This limitation meant that the trajector could only be used on or near the planet itself.

You know, that, and other TOS' fights, had a certain charm nonetheless. The TNG's ones were just bland and unimaginative.
The TOS fights were so goofy it was kind of fun, but yeah the other shows were just bland. They did get a tiny bit better in the later shows, but TNGs were probably the worst.
As for the TOS fights, there's actually a book coming out this year with all of the goofy moves Kirk used. Kirk-Fu Manual: A Guide to Starfleet's Most Feared Martial Art.

That is a bit closer to what we got in the Enterprise Mirror Universe 2 parter.

This would be like a doctor turning off an AED right next to her because she's already trained in CPR herself. That makes absolutely no sense. EMH's don't get in the way, they help.

Any doctor would face serious questions if an AED was right next to them on why it shows no signs of being used during someone's heart attack.

You're not engaging with the basic criticism. Nobody has any reason to look at the EMH logs.

Ok, so let's say there's a fire and the fire alarm didn't sound. Wouldn't you ask the person who was there what happened? Wouldn't you be concerned if there was another fire it won't sound again?

The EMH is supposed to activate in medical distress. It either didn't, which Rios should check, or Agnes turned it off, which Rios would ask why.

They did. Jurati told them.

Edit: I'm not ckear where you get this idea that anyone would know the EMH didn't activate. You seem to be just making that up.

- "There were flames that burned stuff. You know? Fire!"
- "But why didn't the alarm..."
- "Who cares? My mint condition Funko Pop! collection is roasted. I had other things on my mind that moment!"

The owner of the house would get the fire alarm checked. The owner of the ship would get the EMH checked. Period.

I'd been expecting them to spend the whole season working their way to The Artifact and Soji, so I'm very curious where they are going to go for the rest of the season. I'm guessing the focus will shift now to investigating her origins and the conspiracy around the Synth attack on Mars.

I mentioned this in a previous post, but all the scenes we've been shown in the previews and such seem to span episodes 1-7 (i.e. up to and including the Riker stuff). This suggests to me they have really big surprises lined up for the last three episodes. I'm uber excited for them.

Data! Worf! Q! Every love interest Picard ever had from Anij to Crusher to Nella Daren to Vash and Picard has to choose!
