I looooove this episode. I think I liked this one episode better than most of the TNG movies. So good.

I thought the Picard/Hugh stuff was REALLY good, I didn’t like the Jurati/Rios stuff and found it forced. Definitely better than last weeks episode.

4 episodes left, it’s going a bit fast now.

Yup. We'll get to see Riker and Troi (and their daughter) in the next two episode , then Seven is supposed to be back for either the ninth or tenth episode. And the big reveal of Jurati and Soji's secrets.

It's gonna be epic and I look forward to it ;);).

I really don't think the whole Jurati killing Not!Maddox thing is over and done with. It's Chekhov's Murder. Just wait and see.
Agreed - I think Jurati was hitting on Rios purely to manipulate him later on in order to aid her mission to kill Soji and prevent the Zhat Vash vision she was shown by Commander Oh from coming true.

I laughed out loud when it was revealed the Borg assimilated the Sikarians. Of all the Voyager episodes to reference. I hope the Borg became far more pleasure-oriented and gained a reputation for having legendary hospitality.

Great episode. I was riveted to the screen, loved every second of it.

Any theories on Soji’s origins will now need to explain how she knew that Sikarian Spacial Projectors are limited to 40,000 light years. It sounds like her origin story being linked to the Borg is getting warmer…did Maddox get Borg help?

What do people think? I don’t buy the theory about her being the Queen…she’s the wrong species, unless they’re thinking of retiring/upgrading the Queen.

It screws my theory that Soji was made using Lore’s positronic neurones.

Rafi’s issues seem like they’d be more at home in a different show so far. Like they don’t relate much to the main narrative and make her seem like an anchor on the mission. I hope she finds new purpose by end of season.

While I have quibbles over the execution of Raffi's addiction, I think her issues fit the larger themes PIC's writers are trying to explore—of those who have fallen through the cracks and have been damaged by their time in Starfleet.

TBH, the main narrative bores me and I find myself more engaged in the smaller character beats, such as Picard and Elnor, Raffi and her addiction, Rios and his hero worship, etc. When the Romulan incest twins show up, I tune out a bit.

If PIC doesn't end with JL running out into the E-D corridor and asking Worf and Troi what the date is, then--and only then--will I admit it's not real Star Trek.
I was thinking they should end it with Giunan coming in and saying that this isn’t right. Like Yesterday’s Enterprise.

Loved the episode but still hate the Narek/Soji love story.

My eyes about rolled out of my head when Narek started crying.

the Picard/Hugh stuff was fantastic. I loved the one ex-drone that called Picard Locutus as he ran by.

How did they get those pictures? I get the Enterprise E and the Borg Cube since that was probably visual sensors but the close ups inside the ships are a bit odd. Especially the Locutus one which I said earlier was not the viewscreen image but as if someone on the bridge took a picture of the screen while he was on.

Oh, I don't think anybody believes the show has forgotten about that murder already. Heck, they made a point of showing it in the "Previously on PICARD" recap and went out of their to depict Jurati's anguished emotional state. They're just waiting to drop that particular shoe later on -- at the worst possible moment.

And, personally, I don't think Jurati is some cold-blooded Mata Hari type who cunningly set out to seduce Rios to throw him off the scent. I'm willing to take her liaison with Rios at face value--she was just looking for some comfort and solace in the arms of a raffishly attractive space captain--even if Rios has no idea of just how deep her troubles go.

Totally disagree here. Note how she unnecessarily goes into graphic details about Picard's assimilation right in front of him to get him to throw a fit. That and the business with Rios screams coordinated psychological misdirection to me.
