None of those ever freaked me out the way that faceless woman in "Charlie X" did.
I always consider that the visual for I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream.

My biggest disappointment out of this whole experience is that Jammer isn't on board. He's not a Roddenberry Purist. He's a DS9 and BSG guy. Oh well.
We also had Kirk and Spock being whipped in Patterns of Force.Near-dead McCoy hanging from the ceiling and giving the shock/near-death stare and covered in welps and bruises was pretty jarring for 1968.
It's funny because there's no gore or anything but when the Kelvan crushes the crewman into dust it really bothered me as a kid.None of those ever freaked me out the way that faceless woman in "Charlie X" did.
Horror has been part of STAR TREK since the Salt Vampire at least.
And launched a thousand slash fics.We also had Kirk and Spock being whipped in Patterns of Force.
And then Spock walks on Kirk's back and they play it for laughs. We also had Kirk and Spock being whipped in Patterns of Force.
Honestly , they shouldn't have used Maddox at all. Too much fan service and not enough story service.
IIRC, crew woman. It's funny because there's no gore or anything but when the Kelvan crushes the crewman into dust it really bothered me as a kid.

EDIT: This is the first time in the current era that he's ever given an episode 1.5 stars out of four. The lowest he ever gave Discovery was 2. So much for "Everyone likes Picard better than Discovery!"
Alas you weren't alone, the alt.wesley.crusher.die.die.die newsgroup wasn't exactly an empty corner of the internet. The hate towards Wesley, and many people who directed it at Wil Wheaton, really hurt him.
Personally I loved the character. So did Larry Niven.
I meant crewman as a gender-inclusive term.IIRC, crew woman.
Yeah you cant really say Crew person that really doesn't work well and is kind of clunkyI meant crewman as a gender-inclusive term.
TNG wasn't seen as the definitive Star Trek since season 3 of DS9
I thought the distinction was important, given that it was pretty rare for a woman in Trek to meet such a fate.I meant crewman as a gender-inclusive term.

Would you say it's Maclunky?Yeah you cant really say Crew person that really doesn't work well and is kind of clunky
Jammer has always been smart, perceptive and insightful. For him to be "on board" with this show would be a crushing disappoint and would call into question his decades of good taste.
Cant say for him but just so everything is in the open TNG, DS9, ENT,TWOK, SFS, TFF (just for how stupid it is and its premise in a so bad its good way) and TUCOut of curiosity, what are your Trek leanings? I'm guessing TOS, TNG, and DS9?
