Seems to be. Most of my favorite episodes of Discovery are the same way. If I give it a 10, chances are people I usually disagree with hated it. Unless it's "If Memory Serves" or "Remembrance" (the latter of which I "only" gave a 9).

    100%.

Besides, mind-control is a crappy plot device.

Oh, wait, it's definitely mind control.

Oh may have threatened to harm her loved ones if she didn't cooperate.

Well in this case Agnes will be heading to jail for a long time unless Oh/Section 31/whoever rigs up a pardon for her.
I'm just waiting for someone to point out "Why didn't Starfleet used holographic displays for years? Because of Pike?"

Picard: No, because we found out the hard way that vital info holographically displayed and visible even to your opponents on a viewscreen was a bad idea.

You’re talking like this is real life and as if the writers didn’t put her in that position. And, honestly, who just accepts someone is dead and shoots them? What is this, Last of the Mohicans? And who diagnoses themselves as too far gone to save? This trope can only make sense for people who have seen it enough times on TV that it’s been normalized.

Who the fuck was complaining about blood and cursing? You don't have to pay attention to my comments (obviously!), but don't just make shit up or put words in my mouth.

I'm getting angry at the very, very shoddy storytelling. Nothing I've complained about is a "nitpick." I'm talking about the show it its most macro sense.

There's an image out there somewhere...might have been a brief shot in a trailer, not sure offhand...of Jurati with a mind-meld hand on her face.

idk, I saw the scene only once and had no problem with it (other than: wait, was this guy from Voyager? Man, had they really felt the need to remind me Voyager existed?)

She isn't mind controlled at all.

Commodore Oh literally showed her why Maddox and Soji need to die, no doubt about it, whether or not what she has been shown is the truth remains to be seen, she certainly believes it.

Presumably its the same thing that Narek and Rizzo have been shown, yet Narek doesn't seem quite as all in as Rizzo is, so it may not be as cut and dry as some are making it out to be.

The Federation needs to have jurisdiction before it can prosecute her, and I didn't get the impression that Freecloud is Fed territory.

It seems that Commodore Oh literally showed Jurati why the Zhat Vash exist, its looking like they will have their own equivalent within Starfleet as well, not just Vulcans either, if Oh was willing to show Jurati just imagine who else could be in on it.

Unfortunately, Brophy didn't happen to have the good luck of dining at the same restaurant as the producers were at the exact moment they were discussing his character's possible return. (As happened with Charlie Brill and "Trials and Tribble-ations."

Maddox is a Federation citizen. The murder occurred on his ship and Rios will certainly let the Federation take control here.

This BBS wouldn't exist if that was a thing people did. I'm not remotely "angry" in any real sense, just disappointed by this show.

And I was also reacting to a poster who was mischaracterizing my opinions entirely, which I find irritating.

    But, in general, I'm fine.

I enjoyed it. But I would knock a few points off it. I would've wanted to see more shots of Echeb before his untimely demise; to give the character and Seven's loss more depth. Picard's pleas for mercy is overdoing it for that character and is wrong in that scenario. Bjayzi just has one episode before she's simply killed. Maybe it was beyond the series' or Brophy's control or maybe one or the other didn't want it - but whatever - Brophy is such a good character actor - I do miss him.

I won't know whether I like Juranti killing off Maddox until the next episode, Although atm its more a damp squib. Whoever is playing him, I had wanted to see more of that character.

I do find your posts harsh, but your criticism that I've seen is always about the show and not about another poster. The same can't be said of other posts I've seen from other people on the internet. And you make a lot of valid points about Picard's shortcomings.
Aside from the overly gory torture scene, Icheb's appearance was handled as far as it could go with the actor change. Most people probably wouldn't tell it wasn't Manu. Any further and the actor change would be more noticeable and distracting, which was what happened with Maddox.

I've heard this "not your [insert family members] Star Trek" too many times now. Violence, blood, and cursing doesn't make it better. I think some people are using that to cover up serious story errors.
