Gabe is too judgmental. Pushing away someone who's trying to do better, after substance abuse, only makes things worse. Keep them at arm's length if you have to, but at least try to be understanding, even when it's hard. Just my opinion.

What happened to Icheb was disturbing (the good kind of disturbing, just to clarify). I was unprepared for that. Way more disturbing than the Ceti Eel, the first time I saw it.

Nice little Quark and Breen shoutout in there.

There’s a lot of backstory in those 14 years of Raffi post-Picard resigning/her forced discharge from Starfleet we haven’t seen that likely justifies Gabe’s behavior. Someone doesn’t act like that unless a former loved one has done some seriously messed up shit.

Different Actor for
ICHEB
also.

Dr. Juarti has been tainted by Commodore Oh and doesn't realize she's a patsy. :scream:

She's going to be inconsolable when she realizes it.

Disheartening was the implication only Seven bothered to rescue Icheb. They could at least have namedropped Paris or someone or a reassurance to Icheb that the Doctor would heal his injuries or something.

And that opening was way too violent. I'm missing Discovery now actually. Ironically that's starting to feel more like Trek (despite the many complaints about the show online). That show added to the characters of Pike, Spock and Number One. Picard feels like it's undermining Seven and Picard himself. It's like Seven lost even more of her humanity becoming a vengeful vigilante, undoing her growth on Voyager.

Also, the Icheb scene was too quick to notice the recast really, but I'm pretty sure that Maddox wasn't Brian Brophy. Why did they recast him?

Loved:
- Bringing back Icheb (momentarily)
- Mr Mot's Hair Emporium
- Apparently Quark's has been franchised out
- Quark name drop
- Picard's cartoony French accent
- Voyager name drop
- Background on what Seven has been up to
- The last scene between Picard and Seven. Seven sounded like how she did on Voyager, and then the Voyager fanfare played
