Longest time away from role

So Leonard Nimoy appeared as Spock in 1991's Undiscovered Country and it was 18 years before he reprised his iconic role.

Jeri Ryan last appeared as 7of 9 in 2002's Nemesis and would reprise her role again after 18 years in Picard.

But Jonathan Del Arco is reprising his role as Hugh that he last payed in 1993. That's 27 years. Surely a record?

Charlie Brill reprised his role of the Klingon infiltrator Arne Darvin in Trials and Tribble-ations (1996), 29 years after The Trouble with Tribbles (1967). I don't know if there's a longer interval than his in Trek though.

Oh, that's good - I'd forgotten about him. I guess that the actors playing Kang and Koloth also had a pretty long gap between appearances.

It's a fan film, so maybe it doesn't count, but Michael "Forrest was a film and television actor, notably playing the part of Apollo in the 1967 Star Trek episode "Who Mourns for Adonais?" and most recently reprised this role in the Star Trek Continues episode "Pilgrim of Eternity" 47 years later."

Quote is from his Wikipedia Page.

So in official productions, it seems Charlie Brill is the winner and in unofficial ones, it's Michael Forrest.

Someone in another thread said Jeri Ryan was offered a brief appearance in Nemesis but she declined.

If it's just time between character appearances, I think Mudd has that about 44 years between the last appearance on TAS until Choose Your Pain.

If it's a Star Trek Actor playing the same role, 45 years for Michael Forest as Apollo, last seen in 1967, and returned to STC episode Pilgrim of Eternity in 2013.

Talking about character appearances, then Vina or the Talosian Keeper has Mudd beat by a few years (~1967 to 2019).

As for actor appearances, I think we have our answer (Charlie Brill), although Picard could easily top that if they ever include an actor who last appeared in the first few seasons of TNG. Outside of Star Trek, maybe James Best (1959's The Killer Shrews and 2012's Return of the Killer Shrews)? That's the best I could find from limited Google searching. James Best's 53 years can be topped by anyone from the first couple seasons of TOS, although they're in short supply these days.
