I have to say that I rather enjoyed the win over Man Utd. I daresay Wolves have given us our two toughest games of the season.
I have become a fan of Arlo White as a play-by-play announcer on MSNBC Premier League coverage. All of MSNBC's announcers are pretty good but Arlo's the best. Haven't watched enough Bundesliga to have a favorite announcer, but I have liked all the former players as color commentators. It seems to be a characteristic of the former German footballers to be brutally honest - and I like that.
A bit sloppy in the first half, but the Reds kicked ass in the second half. Final score Liverpool 4 and Southampton 0.
DFB Pokal: Bayern vs. Hoffenheim Lewandowski scored, but he was offside. No goal. Now Hoffenheim scored.... own goal by Bayern (Boateng)
BREAKING NEWS: Manchester City has been banned from UEFA competitions for two years for alleged financial improprieties.
City can appeal that, so it'll probably get reduced to a one year ban, but even that is huge, even for a financial powerhouse like City. It's also a big hit for them in terms of prestige; the Champions League is the only competition they really care about. I wouldn't be surprised if some of their players will be looking to leave if there's no prospect of CL football. And this explains a lot of the things Pep's been saying recently; he might be gone after this season, too.
Fuck City, Fuck PSG and the rest of the clubs who spend way, way beyond their means. Liverpool funded all their spending through massive sales of players. Man Utd have turned profits for about 20 years now (sadly Glazers loaded them with debt). Even Chelsea over the last few years have sorted themselves out. Man City made a mockery of FFP and this ban needed to happen sooner.
I'm still trying to adapt to the reality of Wolves being a top half of the Prem team and deservedly so. Decades of "Once great, now perennially underachieving also rans" leaves deep scars...
I'm happy that Santiago Cabrera became an actor. He wanted to be a soccer player, got into the acting business instead. PICARD instead of NEYMAR. Ha!!!!!! https://www.facebook.com/santiagoca...eeting-these-two-gents-miche/627887044039478/
Sadly a child collapsed and died during the match Bayern vs Paderborn yesterday. It was the 14 month old niece of one of the Paderborn players. She couldn't be saved.....
My Nottingham Forest can't decide if they want promotion back to the Premier League for the first time since 1999 because we beat 2nd place Leeds (2-0) several games ago and went 1 point off the Automatic spots. Then we loss 1-0 and drew 2-2 & 0-0 and found ourselves 6 points off the pace and barley inside the playoffs. Tonight we win 1-0 away at Cardiff for the first time in 10 years and now are 3 points off automatic with a 6 point cushion inside the playoffs and only 11 games to go. My heart wasn't made for this
I don't feel too guilty, but my team is Liverpool and the Reds are running away with the Premier League with a 22 point lead on Man City. I can't wait to see Stevie G and Kenny Dalglish celebrating. I hope the boys are at Anfield when they clinch the championship.
