Spoilers Rios panicking for no reason

The canon is "proper" until it isn't.
How would the "Holo Romulans" have knowledge of things outside of their programming like the Zhat Vash?

I just love fan service and integrating proper canon on screen while introducing new ideas respectfully. I would be thrilled if these writers implemented even a portion of what I write.

They won't, at all.

The guy playing Rios is a good actor but has no skill at all with accents.

Good Lord..........this is why people get disappointed sometimes. They write their own little back story, ignoring EVERYTHING on screen and in the comics that set up the whole reason they work for Picard, then get pissed off when they are wrong and scream " The writers SUCK!" Maybe just let it play out. If he was a hologram, why worry about the acid eating the sweater?
Unfortunately, that is inevitable. "Head canon" isn't just a phrase on the Internet. Many fans (myself included) have this "Star Trek box" that has all the parameters for Trek we are comfortable with. The challenge is are we willing to let that get challenged.

The issue is when you suggest that you give the writers a chance, you get told that you’re either a shill or that you’ll just eat up everything these “crap writers” will put out.

Some fans just wont be happy unless it magically is 1989 again.

The Irish one was dodgy, sure - most fake Irish accents are. Which of the other two did you have a problem with? Because the English one is just his normal speaking voice...

I actually wonder, what exactly "un-registered" means in this context. Not belonging to any organization or institution? Not insured? Not being beholden to obligatory standards?

What struck me as strange was that he didn’t take the romulans with them. They were left in a targeted chateau down a man. I guess we could assume they retreated to another location but why guess at things that aren’t there.
someone has to be there for the harvest

This show is another chance to get Star Trek RIGHT after the embarrassing Discovery show where writers not only botched the soul of Star Trek ( It’s not fucking Star Wars ) they had the audacity to physically change the appearance of Klingons - when 15ish years of actors who flushed out the species such as MICHAEL DORN.

All flushed down the toilet due to the “writers” of Discovery. It got so bad they finally caved into the fans by sending Discovery into the distant future, acknowledging that the fans were correct. They can’t write when canon is involved without destroying it so let them have their little future bubble to write stories that damage the timeline we all love as little as possible.

First, you’re being extremely dramatic.
Second, while I don’t hate the character of Worf, I would not utilize Michael Dorn as a shining example of acting in any sense of the word.
Third, some of us have different expectations when it comes to the quality of Star Trek has opposed to simply worrying so much about prior continuity that they don’t “damage” the precious timeline.

I will not say for one second that Discovery or Picard have been perfect. They both have their issues. Discovery has had many. But not the reasons you suggest in my opinion. I don’t let things like the way an alien race or starship look affect my enjoyment of it. At the end of the day, that doesn’t matter to me. It doesn’t make a difference to me what timeline it takes in. The only thing that matters to me is that I enjoy it. And to varying degrees, I have enjoyed both Disco and Picard. Of course, your mileage may vary.

You don’t have to agree with my opinion. But you have to respect my right to have a different one than yours.
