Spoilers Rios panicking for no reason

Wait, I thought they made light of his warning being way too late? Not that there was more on the way.

Ahhhh...
That's what I get for taking Spanish instead of French in high school.

I thought he said "Jean-Luc". :alienblush:
I got the impression that Rios is multilingual and, knowing Picard is French, decided to uncork some on him in that moment.

He said "... my sources (Raffi) tell me it's about to get very hot, Jean-Luc ..."

So obviously, either Star Fleet or the Romulans are about to interfere with their departure.

Or he was lying to get them to hurry it along.

If Rios hadn't said that, we'd be stuck with three MORE episodes on earth waiting for this series to get going!

Thanks, Rios!

I guess the Romulans were going to decloak a Warbird over Picard's place and bomb it with torpedoes.

Or not.

What struck me as strange was that he didn’t take the romulans with them. They were left in a targeted chateau down a man. I guess we could assume they retreated to another location but why guess at things that aren’t there.

You can’t beam photonics up without a mobile emitter

I don't believe that Laris & Zahban have ever been shown to be Holographic Persons in any way, shape or form.

What gives you the idea that they might be?

I think they represent Picards guilt over his failure to save the Romulans. He had these holograms coded to assist him in old age based on the memory engrams of two deceased Romulan agents. They said to him “We will never leave you”

They work his vines, care for his estate, protect him, feed him, etc. Picard feels that at least he saved two Romulans.

The woman goes with him to the apartment which had what I think were holographic emitters. Probably standard on homes and apartments at that time. I also suspect they both have mobile emitters.

Seven carries around the Doctors mobile emitter and summons him when she needs him. That’s my guess .

I am thinking 60% of the people we are seeing so far are either synths or holograms

This is getting idiotic.

My guess is that they are going to serve a logistical purpose on Earth and potentially serve as back up or rescue should Picard get into trouble. Plus somebody has to look after Number One, the goodest boi in the whole federation.

Good Lord..........this is why people get disappointed sometimes. They write their own little back story, ignoring EVERYTHING on screen and in the comics that set up the whole reason they work for Picard, then get pissed off when they are wrong and scream " The writers SUCK!" Maybe just let it play out. If he was a hologram, why worry about the acid eating the sweater?

He’s been activated for such a long time he is forgetting he is a hologram. The Doctor on Voyager did more of this behavior as time went on.

I just love fan service and integrating proper canon on screen while introducing new ideas respectfully. I would be thrilled if these writers implemented even a portion of what I write.

Kristen Beyer is the only one I know who can write the way I think based on reading all of her Voyager books. I secretly hope many of the other writers move on for season 2 and 3 letting Beyer take control to more tightly weave Patrick’s ethical wishes and her incredible knowledge of the franchise.
