Discovery/Picard crossover

So getting back to the topic at hand:

Jurati’s oddly-specific line about the Federation not being able to create flesh-and-blood sentient synths for 1,000 years makes me think that Craft might have been one of those synths too, which would link DSC to STP. Thoughts?

I'm fine with the new aesthetics, but only because I am convinced that this is a rewritten Prime timeline, after the events of First Contact and Enterprise. I would love an actual TOS show but its not going to happen, so I wish they would just go full scale into using time-travel to rewrite everything - IMO, not only did ENT not exist in the original TOS timeline, but the Picard show is based on a 24th century that we honestly have very little idea about, due to butterfly effect. Things should be close to what we see (with a hundred years after the new 23rd for the timestream to try to right itself) but with all the Control/AI/Tech stuff going on in the new 23rd, it may not be surprising that the Federations response to artificial life may be different in this altered 24th. We are in Days of Future Past/Biff owns the town territory now.

IMO.

It really isn't. They gave us a nostalgia cookie then turned around and gave us an Enterprise nothing like the one in "The Cage".
They’re the same ship, they just look slightly different because of the camera. It’s the same reason Saavik’s face appeared to change shape between TWoK and TSFS, even though it was just a new hair style. Cameras, that’s all.

I consider Discovery to be something of a reboot, but they've crammed their rebooted 23rd century into the existing continuity for their larger Star Trek Universe slate of shows. So everything's pretty much the same as ever except for the Pike/Kirk TOS era.

They had a clip with them in it. Great! Doesn't make Mount and Peck the same exact characters either. No matter how badly they want to bolt Discovery onto TOS' coattails.

A number of characters over the history of Star Trek have been played by multple actors. Are you claiming that, despite the scripts and performances, they were not the same characters either?

They've already updated the look of the TOS era once, to make it look more in line with TNG. Once you've done it once, like changing the look of the Klingons, that kind of makes it less credible to complain when it's been done again.

I've explained my thought processes on more than one occasion here. You'll just have to glean out of those posts anything else you need to know on the subject.

Oh my... I didn't want to start a whole "DSC continuity" discussion here, because there are many, many other threads out there, where this is not as much off-topic. All I wanted to say, is: I think, a crossover between DSC and PIC could help those, who aren't really convinced about DSC fitting into the prime timeline, to accept DSC as a part of this universe a bit more. Of course, this statement can be discussed... but if DSC is really fitting or not, this is another statement for another thread, isn't it?

Expanding on my speculative post here (though the delays are fact), I think launching the new mega streaming service with a crossover movie would be a smart move.

I haven't heard anything about the delays. Dangerous business to slow momentum you are building on the Star Trek front with pointless delays.

Pure speculation from my end, but I think they realised Section 31 won't be ready in-time for the launch of the new CBS All Access 2.0, so they're not rushing it. A Star Trek TV movie or miniseries could be quicker to turnaround.

I haven't even heard when they're launching it. Besides, Section 31 still has seven more weeks of Picard season one, Discovery season three and Lower Decks season one in front of it on the schedule.
