Hey Picard is 94. Maybe data thinks you won't notice or can't see the suit of the cards, and further can't remember that there would only be four queens in a deck? #Irumodic:ack::angel:;)

Five hearts is a David Crosby reference. Wait, that's livers.

Either way there's contemporary-sounding music invovled in the episode.

in my book there are a lot of reasons to thinks somebody else lives in utopia but utopia is something you probably can't reach.

this whole discussion is a misunderstanding. to any african migrant the eu is utopia. when they get here they find out they were wrong rather quickly.

utopia is not a real place in time it's a perception.

yes, it's symbolism for...erm...well the queens represent a strong female power in Picard's life. The Borg Queen comes to mind - especially with Data wearing the FC uniform. The hearts represent the biomechanic heart in Picard's own chest. It is a hint at the synthesis of technology and biology as in the Borg. The 5 references 3rd of 5, as in Hugh, who was Borg.

Borg took data neurons? The dreams aren’t dreams but telepathic link with Data who exists in the Borg Cube somehow (or his daughters.) Picards brain think is his telepathic link to the Borg?

Its not impossible, we know Picard was a part of the Borg for a while and has had nightmares before, if anyone had the technology to create Dahj and Soji its the Borg, we never saw them use it (except once on Data) because they were travelling in the opposite direction.

I don't have a subscription to CBSAA, but I watched the freebie episode (episode one) on youtube. I was impressed. It started out slow, but really picked up. When the season is over, I'm definitely going to do a one month subscription to CBSAA to watch the season.

Let me just summarize what we know by the end of episode 3, because I made a forecast four days before episode 1 aired without having been to any premiere whatsoever and given that @Blooded refused to reveal the spoiler about the chateau interview.

Forecast (can be read below, too):

    - authoritative figure doesn't leave in good standing, Picard: check (revealed in episode 1, 3)
    - provoked to resign on ethical grounds, Picard: check (revealed in episode 3)
    - leaving loyal officers behind who fight for their own survival, Raffi: check (revealed in episode 3)
    - dominant group undermines the public standing (of Picard), chateau interview: check (revealed in episode 1)
    - portraying (Picard) as actual traitors: false (partially false, or maybe in later episodes)

I count 1 wrong, 4 correct statements before the show aired. Since @Hythlodeus made the very dashing commentary trying to ridicule me in front of the forums, I can say that my two-weeks YouTube crash course in political science taught by @Hythlodeus must have been enough to predict the act-1 subplot of ST: Picard, or there was something more too, it.

Anyway, very nice move by @Hythlodeus to welcome new forum members by intended-derogatory comments on someone's educational background. I'm sure you're living up to the ethics Star Trek as a posterboy @Hythlodeus.

Anybody knows what this Earth footage in the news holo depicts? Looks like a real-life Buddhist pagoda or stupa. [IMG]

I'm not really sure, but after stretching the holoscreen out to more closely match its presumable real proportions and doing a bit of digging on Google, it sort of resembles the Boudhanath stupa in Kathmandu, Nepal. It even has that encircling wall with those black rectangles on it, and a rectangular gold tower with red markings at its base. It would make sense, as it's one of the largest and holiest Tibetan Buddhist pilgrimage sites.
