For American IP address holders, you can now stream the first Picard episode for free on the CBS All Access YouTube channel. Hopefully Amazon will do the same......will update if they do.

I noticed this last night and gave the episode a second look. I don't subscribe and have to wait until Saturday afternoon to view it at the house of a friend who does, so it was nice to have the unexpected chance to watch the first episode one more time before moving forward.

I really enjoyed watching this show. Remembrance is a good show. I really liked the Data and Picard dream scenes and the ones with Picard and Dahj.

Thanks! I saw it.
A bit more Earthbound than it needed to be, typical over-glossy production standards, not as many lens flares... Stewart and Spiner excel, but plot elements and tropes seem off the shelf and as faded as the graded on-screen palette, and feeling more like Blade Runner with "Starfleet's gone bad - again" thrown in. It helps a lot that we were told that PIC is not a sequel to TNG and those news articles are sufficiently recent to not need to be plopped into every post. One has 2 guesses the moment the girl has a bag put over her head and the one who says "must be an android" gets a cookie for telling the correct answer... everyone's there, the plot feels like it's trying (unlike some other shows), but it still feels less than the sum of its parts. I'd also bet 50 quatloos that Picard will die in a death meant to be tragic but will come across like a rug being trampled on by a lorry of muddy boots instead.

Additional:
But after seeing enough of episode 2, I tuned out the moment the first f-bomb was dropped. Like pigeon poo, that's just doing what every other lackadaisical soap does. At least "Doctor Who" has improved, for now.

What a silly reason to drop out.

Agreed. It's exceedingly pearl-clutchy. it also shows a lack of understanding about the history of Star Trek. Gene Roddenberry never wanted to show to be "clean wholesome fun for the whole family" so much as he wanted to do intelligent, adult sci-fi within the limitations of the genre at the time. Kirk was controversially swearing in The City on The Edge of Forever. The explosive phasering of poor Lieutenant Remmick in The Next Generation's episode Conspiracy was Roddenberry way of testing the limits on how much gore first-run syndication would allow. If Roddenberry had a platform like CBS All Access to work with at the time, I guarantee you that there would be swearing and nudity, and he'd probably be even less restrained about it than what the current producers are doing now.

Beyond that, I find it ridiculous how some people give so much power to certain words.
