Hey y’all! I thought it would be fun to have a family thread. Post your favorite stories or pictures of your loved ones or lil kiddos! This is my nephew Parker with my husband Ryan tonight. The key to being the favorite uncle? Letting them eat cookies in their underwear. May the family follies commence!!
That’s a very good practice to have, I’d say even nightly! Parker sure enjoys it. Cookie loving is apparently genetic.
this is me, "Billy" I was the older brother .. in 69 my brother had just been born --- in September 15 his name is Mark ---- I changed my name at 21 to Bill I remember building the USS Missouri in model form and --- Dad showed me which giant guns like idk what caliber - that he had welded together.. and built there really heart warming.. 000 I remember... he had also built skyscrapers and nuclear Subs and such --- the Indian head power plant --- he took me to that power plant back then to show me where he worked at that time.. I also saw the sub he was building ... later a year or two with my little brother.. ==== Before the little brother shaved my head because I was getting married IDK why now but back in 2002 I did.. LOL high school I was still Billy here. oh a little - self promotion here. just to post images I found === this is the co-founder of apple The Woz -- and me.. I gave him a sharpy silver to sign more things with .. He really appreciated that.. cause his sharpy was out.... and the high school talent show group I was with.. I am in the center with a trombone.. yeah.. this is what happens when I look for images of family on FB I just want to share everything well I did --- not share many many images that were of me and such..--- but yeah in the high school group we performed 'in the mood' and 'Saturday in the park' mom was a different story.. yeah.. she read my cards at 11 to tell me what I would be when I would grow up .. It was neat from that point I could predict my future on my own .. no cards - quite accurately you know... I remember one day when mom told me she had done. a ancestry thing with the records passed down from grandmother to grandmother since the women know who the dad is.. mostly== she did record after record I had a poet ancestor in the 1555 about ? from England -- whose name was in our encyclopedia Britannica on the other side..--- she went back to the red sea where all records were lost during the crossing of the red sea... --- so IDK I don't think I am related to Moses but yeah --- mom did not say.. just that records were lost at the red sea.
I took my son to the barber when he was a 5 yr old and he was pretty impressed with himself. The next day he came up to me and said, "Look! My haircut is still on!" It became one of those family sayings that we still say today. He's 38 now.
@think thanks for sharing that!!! Those photos are awesome. I can definitely see the change from Billy to Bill in your pictures. @Velocity that’s too cute! I can totally picture that moment sticking with you.
This is timely for me, because my older brother passed away at age sixteen, on November 19th, and so he's always on my mind around now. Though I don't believe in literal spirits or an afterlife, he has been my metaphorical guardian angel, and has kept me going through the darkest times. These are my favorite pics of him: And for some levity: this is a fun family memory, thankfully captured in a picture. My older sister, age sixteen, explaining tampons to me, age 12, and my younger sister, age 10. LOOK AT MY LITTLE SISTER'S SKEPTICAL-ASS EXPRESSION!
@thestrangequark This is me and my two cousins on my mom's side that existed at the time of this pic. I look like the youngest but I'm actually the second-oldest with the first in the middle being the oldest by 8-months. Color-corrected: And me and my brother when he was born: And another couple of me:
OMG! I just figured out who your little sister looks like! Young Amy Pond! Her resemblance is uncanny. Your brother looks like he was an amazing spirit. I can see why you'd like of him as your guardian angel. ♥
We've always thought that! When my mom first saw little Amy Pond she was gasped aloud, "OMG, it's Baby Flo!"
This isn't really a "family" picture but I didn't want @TribbleFeeder 's thread to die. I don't have a lot of good family pictures left due to a flood. This is my high school graduation picture. I definitely needed a haircut. If you look closely, you can see money in my hand as I'm about to make a payoff so I can get my diploma. Just kidding. It was actually money that we were all pitching in to get the principal a watch from our graduating class. That's my story anyway.
Beautiful! My mom (and dad) awhile back. This is my favorite picture of them together. (My nutty aunt wrote or taped labels to all of the photos before she scanned them.)
Pshaw that shirt is dope. Here's me at three, and honestly, if they made this outfit in grown up sizes I'd still wear it:
@thestrangequark, were you/are you a fan of Punky Brewster? I loved her and she's always been an influence on me.
