Spoilers Lord of the Rings TV series

I don't recognize a single one of those names. I'm a little surprised, a lot of these kind of shows will try to draw in at least one semi-significant name, but I don't see any names that immediately jump out at me.
They did have Will Poulter originally, but ended up losing him already.

It's probably a good thing that I don't know most of those names (at least not looking them first). That way our first impressions aren't of who that actor is and instead entirely on whoever they're playing.

Oh, wait, I just noticed Nazanin Boniadi (Counterpart, Homeland, Scandal) is in the cast. I'm a big fan of hers! Oh, well, so much for that theory.

I've never watched any of the shows you mentioned. There's a good chance I've seen at least one of the cast members in something, but I don't know any without looking them up, which I don't feel like doing right now.

You absolutely need to watch Counterpart. It's tragically only two seasons long but it's one of the best shows I've watched in the past decade.

Morfydd Clark seems to be in everything I watch now. She was in His Dark Materials and then in Dracula. Not that I mind.

It's one I want to see since I'm a huge JK Simmons fan, but I'm unemployed right now so I've limited my entertainment budget, and I'm sticking to freebies on the streaming services I have. As far as I know it's not a legal freebie anywhere, so it'll probably have to wait until I get a new job.

Sad news. Not to be morbid, but I wonder if we'll start seeing a lot more LOTR merchandise and stuff popping up everywhere now that he's not going to be around.

Sad news. Without him, we would have never seen countless works by his father published.

Congratulations on not waiting two seconds to say that.

Sorry. Even if he was a bit overprotective of the IP, I guess we should at least be thankful that he prevented everybody from putting out really shitty LOTR stuff.

The only names that really jump out to me as familiar are Cynthia Adai-Robinson, who I saw in the Arrowverse shows, and Peter Mullan, who I saw in the last two Harry Potter movies, and Westworld.

You don’t know Sir Lenny Henry?

Amazon has released their official synopsis for the series. Nothing much in there, but it does reveal some of the locations we'll be visting, including The Misty Mountains, Linden, and Numenor.
Amazon Studios’ forthcoming series brings to screens for the very first time the heroic legends of the fabled Second Age of Middle-earth’s history. This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and will take viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and the greatest villain that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness. Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.
