Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

I can't believe the amount of time I put into re-watching TNG over the last two months. Basically, whenever I wasn't working or sleeping or shopping, I was watching it. Now I have to get caught up on other stuff I put off.

If I didn't cram it all in now, I never would've. So I made myself live and breath TNG. I feel like I just pulled a Harve Bennett, when he watched all of TOS before diving into TWOK. He only saw TOS sporadically before and -- after 1996 anyway -- I only saw TNG sporadically. When I have the time, I'll have to post about everything I got out of it.

But wow. My advice to other people is to never do such an extreme binge like that in such a short amount of time.
Two months is not that short a time to binge watch something. That’s only 3 episodes per day or about 2 hours worth. People do much worse things for mor than two hours a day daily ;)

I'm surprised fans are not upset with them reusing the Borg again.

Since Trek last used the Borg, we’ve had four seasons of TV (let’s say about 80 episodes, and none of this includes two seasons of Short Treks), and three movies. It’s been 17 years since they last appeared in new onscreen content, seems a long enough gap!

One thing I’m particularly excited about, with the use of the Borg, is that in this case the writers and producers have never used them before. This is a new creative team tackling them, and that’s refreshing. We’ve never seen this groups portrayal of the Borg, or Borg stories.

Sir Patrick didn't want to do a Borg storyline initially (he didn't want to do ANYTHING that has been done before on TNG because 'been there, done that'), but when he realized that it was going to be a whole new different take on them, he agreed. So yeah. New approach.

I’ve always enjoyed the Borg, loved watching them as a kid.

I recently watched a marathon of tng to voyager and I can see why people saw the First Contact-Voyager characterisation as a regression back to space zombies . I’m interested to see what they do with them here.

rhis really does feel like a return to the Star Trek of my youth, albeit in a different fashion

On twitters Star trek Cbs all acess page they had a new ad with Star Trek Picard clips and they showed the Borg Queen.I don't know if it's been on tv .I thought it was interesting they're finally showing that character again.:vulcan::rolleyes:

I don't know who the actress is all there was a brief glimpse of her in the ad for the Cbs all access preview on their Twitter page.It was blink and you miss it near the end of the preview.:vulcan::shrug:

I really don't know how I feel about the Borg Queen? If she's in the show, I can't imagine Janeway will be too far behind.
