The Romulan War also never took on the form it should've. I prefer Mangels & Martin as a team over either author's solo ventures - they complemented each other very well - but I thought Beneath the Raptor's Wing did a lot of extremely interesting and ambitious stuff, and even its missteps hinted in a positive direction.
I don't think Andy Mangels has written anything by himself. Or are you talking about something non-Trek that he did?

This month's 99p Amazon UK deals are:

Star Trek: Rihannsu
The Romulan Way
My Enemy, My Ally
Swordhunt
Honor Blade
The Empty Chair

Star Trek: TNG
Resistance
Death in Winter
Hearts and Minds

Star Trek: Signature Edition
Duty, Honor, Redemption ( => Novelisations of TWoK, TSfS, TVH)
Sand and Stars ( => Spock's World, Sarek)
Pantheon ( => The Valiant, Reunion)
The Hand of Kahless ( => The Final Reflection, Kahless)
Worlds in Collision ( => Prime Directive, Memory Prime)

I just can't stop buying these 99p books. So, these signature editions, any good? I'm tempted by a few. How about Rihannsu?

I really like the Duty, Sand, and Worlds collections listed above. Check out the descriptions to see if they interest you. The other two collections are fine, and if you are a big fan of Klingons or Picard on the Stargazer, you may love them.

Pretty underwhelming collection this month. I’ll pick up the Left Hand... books, but that’ll be it.

You really should also pick up The Left Hand of Destiny Book 2. The two books are excellent and when you read book 1, you'll want to read book 2 right after.

I only bought Prime Directive for 99p last month so I'm a bit annoyed it's in this double edition this month. So I think I'll definitely pick up Sand and maybe Pantheon as I'm quite intrigued by that, despite not being much of a fan of TNG novels. Is the duty collection really that good?

In Duty, Honor, Redemption, the novelizations of ST II and III are fantastic. You get what is in the movies, but you also get a lot more. You come to care about Carol Marcus and her group of scientists, David, Peter Preston (Scotty's nephew, who was injured and brought to the bridge after Khan's ambush), Kruge, and many others in a way that the movies just did not have the time for. The novelization for The Voyage Home is a little more standard but still a decent adaptation. You have a little more idea what the Probe was all about after reading it.

The first Trek book I remember reading was the novelization of The Search For Spock (read before I had seen or read The Wrath of Khan, so props to McIntyre for making sure I could understand what was going on anyway). It will always hold a special place in my heart.

Sorry for the extremely late reply! Poor phrasing on my part - I really just meant that I preferred the duo's Trek novels to the ones Martin wrote alone, particularly those featuring the Titan crew.

The problem with that Titan book is that the storyline went nowhere after that. Was that meant to happen like that?

Probably the weakest offerings so far.

Although it is really nice to get A Burning House, since it wasn't included when they had the Gorkon books on sale a while ago.

(It does seem a little odd to me, though, that they've got both Imzadi II individually, and a Signature Edition book that Imzadi II was collected in.)
