This was one of the episodes in question. A well-written episode that was very intense and has an important message. However, it was rather graphic for the time, especially coming from Disney.

Hopefully it will be broadcast without any bullshit interference from executives scared that somebody will be 'offended' by it.
I watched The Black Hole last night. Love John Barry's score for it and good performances all around. Some weird shit going down in what should be a kid's movie. Also never really realized the movie has essentially a VERY similar plot to Event Horizon

So far? Yes.
The episodes have been as long as they needed to be to tell the story. I would like longer episodes too, but I don't want a lot of unnecessary padding to fill out time, either.
I still need to sign up for this, but based on people's comments regarding the interface I imagine that within a month we will get a major update to the platform to resolve issues--people will give it a grace period but that won't last long.
Well, as long as the story is high quality it's ok with me.
But, I can see the point.
After two episodes I wonder if this series would have been good as a mini-series or even a Disney+ original movie. I think it might have also helped with the pacing, considering the second episode was kinda boring to me.
I'm assuming since there are stories going around about how they are showing the episodes uncut, that means they are showing the episodes uncut.
As for The Mandalorian run times, I was a little shocked at how short they are, but I'd rather just see them tell the stories in the time they want to, than force the episodes to all run a predetermined length.

No. It’s not. I think it’s far more refreshing to see a story where it’s just an A plot as opposed to dumping in some boring justification to have a B plot to fill out a run time. The episodes thus far are exactly how long the story requires them to be.
I’m currently watching Gargoyles. I’ve only seen a few episodes here and there back in the 90’s. It’s really dark (for Disney) but it’s really good. I feel like the 5 part pilot could have been a movie.
Right. It can also be over an hour long.
