"Superman & Lois Lane" flying to The CW

Ehh, I'd say the direct arrow spinoff is more it's replacement, and batwoman is just a new addition separately....

I really hope they add more bat family characters....

Personally I think they missed the mark a bit already.... A bat family show set during Knightquest, with Bruce missing, Bane running Gotham, Arkham empties and a combination of Kate, Cassandra Cain, Stephanie Brown, Barbara Gordon, Tim Drake, Jean Paul Valley and Luke Fox all step in to try to maintain the legacy, yet vying for position, and not all exactly on the same agenda. The outline in my head is amazing.

The point is, the fact that they're making both shows and the Superman show at the same time is evidence that they're not interested in maintaining some kind of homeostasis where adding one Arrowverse show requires cancelling another. They seem perfectly content to keep adding more and more shows. Heck, The CW rarely cancels anything, and the Arrowverse is its bread and butter.

Exactly. This show shouldn't be political at all. I hope there is a somewhat universal ideal of good and bad in this country, and Superman should stick to that.
Like sexism, racism, homophobia = bad? That shouldn't be a controversial statement at all and Superman should stick to that and in the current political climate that makes the show political because one party largely supports a sexist, racist and homophobic president and caters to bigots while the other does not.

I just checked TV By the Numbers and Supergirl is the 4th highest rated show on The CW tied with Arrow, Riverdale, and Legacies with a .30 Live + one day rating. So that puts it higher than Nancy Drew (0.25), Black Lightning (0.25), All American (0.25), Charmed (0.20), and Dynasty (0.10). The 3 shows with higher ratings are Supernatural (0.35), Batwoman (0.37), and The Flash (0.55). They also gave all of the CW shows 4/5 bears for their chances of being renewed, so it looks like all the shows are probably going to be renewed.
To put things in perspective the highest rated show on ABC is Grey's Anatomy (1.35), and their lowest is Fresh Off the Boat (0.43). CBS's highest is NCIS (1.20) and their lowest is Madam Secretary (0.43). NBC's highest is Chicago Fire (1.18), and it's lowest is Sunnyside (0.33). Fox's highest is 911 (1.58) and it's lowest is Almost Family (0.63).

No one is saying those things are good, so making up lies about one part of the country and then arguing against them by demonizing them does no good. You are absolutely wrong about one party supporting those ideals, and you are wrong about the president, and one of the reasons you are so wrong about that is because of a false narrative created by writers who want you to think that despite no truth to it.

So again, my complaint is that there shouldn't be politics on superhero shows especially because they get it all wrong anyway. I want less politics, not MY politics. That's the difference.

That's not vindication. Supergirl is the lowest rated show in its timeslot. Comparing it to other low rated shows on CW means very little, especially given that Sunday is the highest rated TV night of the week.

The Supergirl writers run Trump's twitter and write his speeches and his clearly unscripted rambles?

No, but they take things out of context and interpret them flat out wrong. His twitter is not racist, homophobic, etc. But the Supergirl writers are among those that change the definition of those terms to mean anyone who isn't extreme liberal. The point is though that they shouldn't be worrying about Trump's twitter or anything to do with him. It's a superhero show, not MSNBC. They should entertain and not engage in political rants. Look at the hate spewed in these threads. Look at the attacks on Trump and conservatives that have ZERO relevance to anything discussed related to the show, but in response to a dislike of politics at all on Supergirl.

Why should that be on Supergirl or more relevant to this thread, Superman? I guarantee both sides of the aisle would be much happier if the writers just have Superman be Superman and leave their politics off the script page.

All absolutely true. If one pays attention to what's really happening every day one sees that this is clearly true.

America doesn't have a real President right now, just a criminal gang operating out of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

In consideration of the tokenized, offensive mistreatment of the James Olsen character on Supergirl, I would not look to this new series (if it has the same writers) in realistically and honestly dealing with that subject. For people like me, the complete lack of respect of Olsen's life and worldview as a black male was nowhere to be found (other than a few lines ripped from another TV series) was glaring. He was there for image, not substance, because they did not care to write a character expressing his unique experiences that inform every waking moment of black men--especially in America. So again, if this series has the same writers as SG, they would be better off not having anyone comment on race at all.

Some have a very short memory about just how corrupt several former presidents' administrations had been.
My memory is good enough to tell me this; Barack Obama never had to hire a lawyer the entire time he was in office and Hillary Clinton didn't hesitate to testify for 11 straight hours and despite investigating her for longer than Mueller investigated Trump, the Republican investigators were unable to come up with a single indictment. Just because shrill, shrieking conspiracy theorists such as yourself were shrieking "Benghazi" and "lock her up" doesn't mean any actual crimes were committed, except in the minds people such as yourself.

Have you actually read the shit that he spews on Twitter? Do you actually know what sexism and racism are?

All the time. Clearly you don't. But again, you're proving my point. Your post is filled with hate. Not mine. Not the President's. Yours.

You are proving why politics does not belong on these shows. It kills the entertainment value and only brings to the surface the irrational hate against the current President. You wouldn't be so angry if the shows didn't engage in political nonsense.

I've seen his tweets, and even if we ignore them, what about all of the stuff he's said and done during his speeches?
