THE ORVILLE Season Three...

Nah.

Get him as an actor though?

Sitting in the bar eating a pig all by himself.

I just found out that Halston Sage got a new gig, she's the main character's sister in the new Fox mystery series, Prodigal Son.

Saw that. Too late at night. Did not notice Miss Sage at all .

She's sister of the main character, who is played by Jesus from The Walking Dead. She looks different with the blond hair and no alien makeup, the only reason I even realized it was her was because I knew ahead of time.
Here's a clip with her, if anybody is interested.

That would make for a very MacFarlane-esque running gag.
That sounds more South Park. I could see her being a gay Xelen who is new bridge navigator and romantic interest for the current one or a girlfriend or wife for Ed. Remember the timeline being completly the same is unsure. Jason

Why is it always lesbianism when so many other pairings haven't even been begun to be discussed with sincerity and/or lampooning? Not polyamory, or polyfidelitous triads, or those who abstain, or those treating sex the same way some people go buy booze at the liquor store or others? This is the future, there are no worries like pregnancy, STDs, or emotional needs... this is also sci-fi, there are in theory no plot limitations. And stereotypes that main audiences can "relate to" the most instead of being surprised that people aren't always stereotypes...

Well, they did do Sheldon Cooper not liking the concept and being clinical of it in a sitcom. Until they were scraping for ideas and/or ratings (probably the former) and gave him a relationship as joke fodder, which then changed quite a bit but somehow remained funny...

I wonder who's leaving the show this time? Since Anne Winters is 25, another Xeleyan chief of security?

It really does reek of slowly pushing aside Adrianne Palicki for the new girl

"So next season we're going to introduce a new female lead that will allow Adrianne Palicki to exit the show gracefully"

Its probably awkward to star alongside your ex husband

If one of them left it would more likely be Grimes. Don't care how buddy-buddy he and MacFarlane are.

It seems (to me) that Ms. Sage left The Orville for the same reason that Denise Crosby left Star Trek:TNG; because the character of Alara was (to her) limited. This new show she's on, from the looks of it (again, to me) seems to be something she likes more.

They did polyamory on Caprica. It got cancelled early.

Lots of shows have lesbians. They keep getting watched and renewed.

It's Hollywood math.

I agree with this for two very important reasons:
-Kelly is far more important to the show than Gordon is, since the relationship between Ed and Kelly is what the show is built around.
-Replacing Gordon with a 25 year old pilot is a lot more believable than replacing Kelly with a 25 year old XO.

Not sure I'd agree with that. Alara was one of the more catered to characters in the first season, and she certainly had much more to do in a dozen episodes than Tasha Yar had in over twenty of TNG's first season.
