Stolen TNG Captains Chair.

Hey guys. Years ago I heard that the original captains chair the from TNG season 2-7 had been stolen before they filmed Star Trak Generation but after the last episode of TNG. I've always wondered what happened to it and who had it till know, well I still don't know who has it but I found two pictures of it online today while doing a search. It's has a good layer of dust on it but still looks to be in pretty good shape. I thought you guts might want to see it so here's a link to the photos. Now we just have to find the stolen Enterprise-E captains chair!

Blimey, the person who nicked it took photos of it too, then shared them?

It's almost like those teenagers who videotaped their own crime sprees.

Well in all farness the guy who has it now may not be the person who stole it, after all it's
been 25 years but it's possible it is the same guys. His friend does say it's been sitting in storage but at that point I have to wonder what the point of taking it if you can't even do anything with it except put it in a storage unit.

Maybe the pics were actually taken by the actual owner and thief, and he's putting out feelers. He decided to wait 25 years, then sell it for a ridiculous amount in a discreet internet deal.

The TOS chair is signed by Elizabeth Dennehy, who played Commander Shelby in Best of Both Worlds. Were they keeping the original series captain's chair at Paramount back in the early 90's?

I'm wondering now if the one seen in Relics was a newbuild prop or a replica built by a fan and rented for the scene? I know the control console was a fan made replica, but the wall flats were built fresh by Paramount.

I'm not convinced that's the original TOS chair, some of the experts in the TOS forum will no doubt know better.

The TNG chair may not be the original either. There were a few replicas made for the Experience in Las Vegas.

Trust me Tomalak that's the TNG chair from seasons 2-7. I've looked a lot of replicas online including the ones made for Star Trek The Experience and they all get the shape of the shoulder area on the chair wrong and often the color of the leather and fabric too. Not sure what members of the TNG staff are on the TrekBBS but I'm sure they could tell us if it is or not.

So wait did I read that right? The original TOS captains chair was also stolen? or was it just a part of the set.

The TOS chair belongs to Paul Allen’s estate. Publicly displayed in Seattle a few years ago.

If that ain't the actual TNG chair, it's a much better replica than any other version ever, including the Generations one. It seems to match in every way that can be seen in these limited pics.

As others have mentioned, the original TOS chair was sold at auction about ten years ago to Paul Allen.

My guess is this one is the one from Relics, although a little weird Elizabeth Dennehy signed it, since her guest starring role was a couple of years prior.

Chairs, plural. IIRC, the Captain's Chair was stolen from the set of every TNG movie.

I knew about the Enterprise-E chair but what other ones were taken? By chance was Kirks TMP chair stolen too? Always wondered what happened to all of those bridge chairs. The last time I remember seeing one used was in DS9's The Way Of The Warrior.
