Spoilers The Walking Dead Season 10

JD

We've gotten a whole bunch of news about the new season out of the SDCC panel.
It will be be Danai Guria's finale Season, and the Rick movie will be released in theaters, and not on TV.
We also have our first Season 10 trailer:

American Beauty's Thora Birch will be joining the cast as a Whisperer called Gamma, and Snowfall's Kevin Caroll will be joining as a character named John Murphy. Gamma is described as "fiercely protective of Alpha" and for Kevin Caroll, EW says that "He encounters some of our group. He’s going to be desperately trying to get home to his family."
They also announced last week that a character from the comics named Dutch will also be introduced. It sounds like they will be making some fairly significant changes to the character, because in the comics he is a love interest for Maggie, who is not around at the moment in the show.
Speaking of Maggie, current showrunner Angela Kang has also said that she is currently working on trying to get Lauren Cohan to come back.

Can we discuss the trailer here without spoiler tags? If not, this will get annoying quickly lol

Ok, lets discuss.

Michonne making out with King? Is Darrell finally going to end up with Carol? Michonne executes someone with Lucille???

I thought about it, but I already started another thread the other day, so I didn't want to start another. If someone else wants to feel free.
The trailer was pretty interesting.
It looks like Carol and Daryl are running off somewhere together.
It will be very interesting to see what happens with Negan once he's freed.
Ezekial and Michonne was probably the biggest surprise.
Michonne with Lucille was probably the second.
I love them fighting with the medieval style shields on the beach.

The trailer looks great. Losing Michonne is going to be a big hit for the show, though-- unless she disappears and we get a Michonne Trilogy. :D

It looks like Carol and Daryl are running off somewhere together.

...and Carol's "friendship bracelet" line appears to be her teasing Daryl for thinking that is the extent of their relationship. I hope this actually pays off--after ten years--and Carol did not drop Ezekiel (among other reasons, such as Henry) because she was betting everything on Daryl, only to be rebuffed in the end.

It will be very interesting to see what happens with Negan once he's freed.

I love Father Gabriel cutting through the BS to tell Aaron and Negan that they need to work together. On this note, there a shot of Rosita crying...I hope that has noting to do with Father Gabriel.

Ezekial and Michonne was probably the biggest surprise.

What will be a bigger surprise is if she's with Ezekiel, then learns Rick is alive, then off she goes. Or will Ezekiel just end up suffering his comic book fate, leading to....

Michonne with Lucille was probably the second.

That was the biggest surprise of all, and in social media, everyone is theorizing whether she's using it as an emotional control over Negan (IOW, "stay in line, and nothing happens to it") , or is she adopting Lucille-ing the Whisperers as a show of brutality matching Alpha's spike warning/punishment?

I love them fighting with the medieval style shields on the beach.

Smart development--by this time, unless Eugene was fully committed to bullet production, most would need to back to basics where weapons are concerned.

No one seems to be happy about Negan joining the fight against the Whisperers, not even Negan himself.

Well, he would be fighting with the people who took his entire organization away from him, so I suppose anyone in his position would be reluctant to join his enemies' cause meaning nothing to him.

I'm kind of torn, I really enjoyed Whiskey Cavalier and I'm going to miss, but at the same time Maggie is one of my favorite TWD characters, so I'm happy Lauren Cohan was able to come back.

The implication I took is that Maggie is indeed returning some point in season 10.

Probably to return to a leadership position once certain characters--like Michonne--take their leave from the series. Or, she's has something to do with Rick's storyline (yes, know he's with Jadis's group, but there's no telling which groups are aware of the other).
