Anyone else being reminded of the old fannon Stardate system? YYMM.DD. Today is 1908.07. Not gonna lie though, it looked a lot more impressive during the 90's

I like the MDY order. Since that's normally how I say dates out loud.
I am U.S.-American, and I judge the way we speak to be ridiculously stupid. Going in sequence from largest to smallest or smallest to largest is logically useful, and yet millions of Yanks have no critical thinking skills to go beyond their own horizons. After all, this is the same country that as a whole decided to keep the absurdly unintuitive imperial system of customary units.Exactly! We numerically date things the way we speak them! Makes so much more sense. January fourteenth, April twenty-third, August sixth... It’s written how the language uses it.
Eh, why are you quoting me? Are we not in agreement?Yeah, well, you're all wrong. ISO dates forever! I've got files that need to alphabetize properly!

Almost every log entry by Jonathan Archer in ENT. Data giving the date of first contact with Vulcans in First Contact. Michael Burnham's log entry in Discovery 1x01.Just out of curiosity, when was this actually used within Star Trek? I'm having difficulty coming up with an example.
David Mack posted on Facebook about Collateral Damage being the culmination of the Next Gen end of the novelverse which began in A Time To... but added that "If you think this is the end of the current continuity... let's just say we Trek scribblers have a few rabbits to pull out of our hats..."
None. Not being up to date with the Litverse (and I am aware that the two Kelvinverse novels aren't out yet), is there any indication anywhere that the Quinto and Nimoy Spocks mind-melded and/or shared katras ?
Claiming an invalidated spin-off continuity as an "alternate parallel timeline" doesn't always plausibly work IMO.

How can one plausibly reconcile the Tzenkethi of the Pocket novels and the Tzenkethi of STO as sharing a common origin in two branching tracks of the multiverse? Or for that matter, Iconians, Preservers and progenitor humanoids, Breen, Hur'q, Future Guy, etc.
Does Mr. Mack imply future books with jump to the new Picard continuity?
I kind of worry this "plan" for the litverse continuity is basically something along the lines of what we saw in the recent Disco novel The Enterprise War which is basically just twisting the various way in which Disco season 2 contradicted the novels in a way which makes them consistent again. Which if anything just makes things feel more schizophrenic and makes it even clearer the novels are a completely separate continuity than the show.
That plot originated in the ST09 Prequel comic, STO just expanded on it.The Romulans, the Borg, and possible experimentation with both.
