Btw...do we have a (suspected) start date for the Short Treks yet? And will they be on amazon or netflix outside the US?
No idea. I'm hoping we find out after the New York Comic Con on October 6th.

It´s on october 6th? Thats my birthday...I call that a good omen ;-PNo idea. I'm hoping we find out after the New York Comic Con on October 6th.
AFAIK, Netflix has the Short Treks rights. As to whether they'll release the one that exists soley to hype a series on their rival service is another matter.I hope they show all the Short Treks on Amazon Prime and Netflix. That way they don't lose audience due to differing streaming subscriptions.

Star Fleet may just choose to retire the ENTERPRISE Ship and Name after Picard retires.
Just to avoid the debacles of what happened to the three (B, C, D) between Kirk's time as Captain and Picard's.
It sounds like the Picard: Countdown comic will also cover Picard's final mission.I wonder if one Short Trek will be enough to cover all this? Or if flashbacks (more than just the one we already know about) will be dispersed throughout the season at critical points?
I could see where we could get some nice drama out of Picard running into his old ship, but with a new captain and crew.Hmm, it'll be interesting to see what the status of the Enterprise-E is.
In the novelverse she is still going strong as of 2386-2387. They haven't reached the destruction of Romulus yet. But that's still several years before Picard is supposed to take place if I recall correctly.
They were refitting it at the end of Nemesis, so if I had to make a guess I'd probably think it was active for a number of years after that. Is it still active by the time of Picard? A good question. I suspect since this show is supposed to center on Picard and they don't want to do TNG-redux that it won't be in service by the time of the show. Having various TNG cast members guest star is one thing. I think that's sort of expected. Picard would undoubtedly call on some of his old friends from the Enterprise from time to time, either for help or just a cup of tea. But having the ship reappear would probably be too much like TNG for what they want to do.
Something like that will probably will only be seen in the Trek Short coming up that involves the flashback between Picard and Riker.
Either Geordi, Worf, or someone new. I'd vote for someone new, just to make things even weirder for Picard if it does become involved in the show. So, who do you think would be Captain of the Enterprise (E-F... whoever) if they do indeed show it??
All we officially know about the Enterprise-B was that she wasn't in service by 2344.Star Fleet may just choose to retire the ENTERPRISE Ship and Name after Picard retires.

All we officially know about the Enterprise-B was that she wasn't in service by 2344.
Enterprise: Scuttled over planet Genesis.
Enterprise-A: Decommissioned after Khitomer Conference.
Enterprise-B: Unknown fate.
Enterprise-C: Destroyed at the Battle of Narendra III.
Enterprise-D: Deanna Troi.
Enterprise-E: Fate yet to be revealed.
To make it complete: The B probably lasted forever and ever. The engine ran fine but the entire body probably fell apart around it to the point where they probably decided it wasn't even worth refitting anymore.
Enterprise-D: Deanna Troi.
I'm inclined to think the opposite: the Enterprise-B was the long-serving starship with the name and was around long enough to be properly decommissioned. The Enterprise-C, on the other hand, was around the shortest, IMO.Considering the fifty or so Excelsior-class ships we saw in TNG and DS9, one can assume they were built to last and that the ENT-B must have met a...sudden and unexpected ending.
