Picard: Status of the Enterprise?

The Tal Shiar and the Romulan military were not exactly friends, and followed their own agenda. Remember the friction in the episode with Troi as a Tal Shiar agent? And the Prometheus was promised to the military, but then that changed and it was supposed to be given to the Tal Shiar...

The same reason Section 31 kept the USS Vengeance secret from the Federation.
And the same reason the Obsidian Order kept those Keldon ships that Riker discovered secret from the Cardassian military and Detapa council.

I think it was pretty evident from the get go that the Praetor and the Romulan Senate were clueless about what Shinzon and the Remans were really up to in cahoots with part of the Romulan Military.

The Scimitar was probably known about, but was assumed to be a secret weapon to be used by the Praetor at his whim, not Shinzon.

I really hope if we see the Enterprise-E and it's sets are recycled and almost unchanged USS Discovery sets.

I would be surprised if we EVER see the interior of a Starfleet vessel at any time during this show.

Picard is retired, and the rest of the series regulars are definitely not Starfleet types.

So unless there's a flashback to Picard's Starfleet days, we may never see a ship of the line during PIC.

Something like that will probably will only be seen in the Trek Short coming up that involves the flashback between Picard and Riker.

But Section 31 had no plans to give the Vengeance to a bunch of slaves and a clone and use it to take over the Federation.
I doubt the Scimitar was designed for that, even if it's how things turned out. It was likely just the biggest and baddest new warbird they had yet developed, which they used for their coup.

Patrick Stewart confirmed he's in uniform for a flashback scene, it could easily be on the Enterprise. And in the trailer, Data is wearing a Nemesis uniform with what look like slanted TNG-ish windows behind him.

Oh, I guess I missed that when I was looking through the scrrenshots. I still figure it probably still looked the same inside after being repaired.

Two of them are ex-Starfleet, so they're not entirely not Starfleet types.
Whatever is happening seems to be a pretty big deal, so I have a feeling Starfleet will be involved, even if we aren't following things from their perspective.
This is Star Trek, I just can't see them doing an entire show without Starfleet being involved in some capacity, even if it's not the focus.

I just hope Starfleet/the Federation doesn't turn out to be the bad guy here. Definitely would not want that.

Well, confirmed that Patrick done a "Flashback" scene, probably back to the Enterprise E for the Romulas Fireworks display..
So we probably see the ship in that flashback, but Patrick was Adimat that he wouldnt be in a uniform, sothe series on a whole will probably be civilian..
Now.. for the Ent - E, I'd love to see it come back to the screen, because 3 movies were not enough.. Abit in a probably Cameo apperance, but if they built a bridge set they'd want to get some miles out of it..

If there's only going to be a short flashback scene set aboard the Enterprise, they may just do a 'digital set', like with BSG: Blood & Chrome.

Has that been confirmed?
They've said several times the event that caused Picard to retire happened 14 years before the show starts (2399), which would put it be before the supernova. Unless they've decided to retcon the year it happened.

Plus the Picard museum gave a date of his retirement IIRC.

I wonder if one Short Trek will be enough to cover all this? Or if flashbacks (more than just the one we already know about) will be dispersed throughout the season at critical points?

Only if that Short Trek is more like a Medium Trek that´s 30 minutes long ;-P

Btw...do we have a (suspected) start date for the Short Treks yet? And will they be on amazon or netflix outside the US?
