Well, as someone who lived in Hong Kong for several years I'd say no. But if you're in favour of commie propaganda, good for you.
I watched the movie, and to my shock and amazement, I didn’t become a Communist. Who woulda thunk it?!
I wanted to like this movie, I really did. I read "The Three Body Problem" and loved it. Same writer, what could possibly go wrong? But I could only get about an hour in before I couldn't take it any more. My god is this a bad movie. I kept waiting for "Jonah and the 'bots" to pop up in the bottom right hand corner of my screen and start riffing. Spoiler: plot points So let me get this straight..... We have the technology to turn the entire planet into a huge spaceship, learn how to convert matter into energy to feed the giant engines and then head off to Alpha Centauri. But then we blow it on factoring the trajectory only 17 years into the 2500 year flight?! Was this like the Mars lander where they got the metric and Imperial systems crossed? The special effects were very good. I just wish the movie was better.
I liked it, but as said some of the physics are.. laughable.. but hey, I take it as they offer it the biggest thing for me is .. the lighting.. they are passing jupiter, and the sky looks like its mid day at earth orbit.. It would be alot darker.. was just a thing i kept noticing..
You know, an awful lot of physics and imagery in a movie like this can be real dodgy...and still be a lot closer to hard sf than Star Trek or Star Wars.
The default setting on Netflix is the English dub. But you can change it to the original Mandarin and add English subtitles.

I wish this movie had been given a general release I would definitely have bought a copy. That and Spectral that's one of my favourite Netflix movies
Wait, did you watch that awful dub and actually think that's the original audio track? Not sure if serious...
I love how you keep repeating this trying to get a rise out of people, and everyone keeps ignoring you. Epic fail - great job board! Proud of everyone.
Finally got around to watching this. It was quite awful, like a syfy movie with a big budget. And so many people say it looks great - looked like a long video game cut scene to me... C movie, with a passing grade just for the spectacle.
I suppose the same way that human beings in just about every action movie made now survive impossible falls.
