I prefer the backstory from the 2002 reboot where the Sorceress grew tired of confinement in the castle and went roaming among the people for a while. A village where she stayed was attacked by a warlord and she used her powers to repel him. The villagers, having seen this, started revering her as a diety... Then an injured soldier suffering from amnesia wandered into the village and she ended up nursing him back to health. The two fell in love, but upon getting his memory back, the soldier left. Soon after the Sorceress realized that she was with child, and returned to Grayskul. It is later on implied that Teela's adoptive father Man At Arms may actually be that same soldier, who does not have any recollection of those events.

    Or it's a #MeToo?

Man at Arms was milked for his babies by a sorceress queen. A woman who can have him fired, banished and magically transformed into a lobster. There's a power imbalance, no one is brave enough to say no to a person with that much power, and everyone should be careful when saying "no" to someone with that much disposable power.

You should pitch that to Starz.

    This is better. :)

Because Evil Lynn and Teela toys are made from the same mold, a friend of mine, during the 80s, told me that they were twin sisters... And I believed him until a few days ago, when I googled this unfact.

But if this were true, which it is not, that would make the Sorceress Evil Lynn's mummy too.

I'm not sure if I would call this movie Masters of the Universe: The Parent Trap, or The Parent Trap: Masters of the Universe??

Although, since Skeletor, He-Man's uncle, and Man at Arms the Captain of the Royal Guard wound up with those two girls, doesn't it seem like it's those two men who should be parent trapped by their daughters?

Are you trying to give my headache a headache?

Anyhoo, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember the uncle thing being there in the Lou Scheimer toon, only in the Mike Young reeboot (Keldor, Randor's brother from another mother)... And Lynn's dad was revealed to be a very cool sorcerer known as The Faceless One.

Oh, and Man at Arms wasn't the captain of the Royal Guard, that was Teela. He carried a rank of general in the 2002 show. Not sure about the 1980's version.

The toons never aired here in the 80s.

I know close to nothing about this franchise.

You have a chance to catch up, and I kinda envy you. The 2002 version is a delightful binge.

*bonus points for the epicly terrible Serbian dub

My wife makes me watch the new She-Ra.

    That has to be enough.

For the moment it's a different thing.

Adora and Adam are brother and sister.

There are medical reasons that they should not bang.

He-Man and She-Ra are not "genetically" Brother and Sister.

    They can Bang.

They shouldn't but if they did, their kids will not be morons.

Although those magic bodies are technology.

I doubt that there is a reason to add a reproductive system when they could just put more abbs on these two people. Although the most obvious reason that (classic) He-Man and Adam are almost identical, is that some one else used to "have the power", and they boned his mum.

Watching the pilot to the 2002 version.

"Skeletor" was hot before the acid. :)

    So did the showrunners.

The soldier in the flashbacks looked nothing like him though, so it was gonna be a retcon.

Do you think that all the boys are extremely disappointed, after they take Mech-a-Neck home and he drops trou?

I certainly think there are a few adult fans who were disappointed with the Snout Spout figure's trunk's size.

The 2002 MotU was on Cable here, back in the day, and I passed on it, becuase I had a child to raise who was way too young, for a show with that much Dialogue.

Saw the first three episodes last night, which constitute a pilot movie.

Adam sounds like a Ninja Turtle.

    Meh.

I'll wait for He-Man to turn up on She-Ra thank you.

If Adam and Adora got their power swords mixed up, and accidentally tried to activate their avatars... Gender switching?

Have we seen any one else power-up with the swords?

How He-man and Skeletors swords linked up, darkside + light side... And that's how you unlock Castle Greyskull is probably not a feature that traveled over to the small screen, becuase Lucas Films probably would have sued.

I think they were pretty clear about that being a no-go.

    Because the ratings are good.

The producers can stick to their manifesto.

By season 7 or 8, after the new car smell has long since fled, and they're being threatened with cancellation, some one is going to say "He-Man" to get another year on Netflix.

I read somewhere (maybe the he-man.org message boards, not sure) that the crew has signed on for a finite number of seasons and that there's no indication the show would continue beyond that.
