Favorite 'Little' Moments Of VOYAGER...

They made a similar observation about the Jesus that was "imprinted" in the shroud of Turin. Turns out he would have had impossible proportions. Yet for years they pretended that it was genuine.
Your analogy is un-analogous.

Conspiracy-

Janeway: "Are phasers standard equipment on board now?"

Chakotay: "Must be..."

"let me guess you burnt the roast again?"
Pretty bold of Chakotay.

Though my favorite jab is "Did he(Tuvok) include your pot roast?" (Ashes to ashes)

Ironic that the guest star got better lines than all of the regulars, especially Harry who was completely outplayed in this episode. I mean you could have replaced him with a mannequin and the result would have been nearly identical.

She did outstanding didn't she? I didn't like that we had no emotional connection because she didn't really exist before this episode was written but the actress did such a great job it saved it for me. Wang's acting...was unremarkable.

My question was: "Why didn't they make her a regular? And lose Wang?" I thought at this point he was completely useless.

Because Wang has a 3 year contract, and she is a guest star. She might have been available to come back once in a while, but she wouldn't be available to become part of the main cast.

That is why Kes left after season 3, Jadzia after season 6, Seven came aboard in 4, Worf also, and Ezri in 7.
Their contracts last 3 years, then a new contract is made. And a one-year contract for the final season.

I thought he was a terrible actor, possibly the worst of the whole franchise. I am just speaking of his acting, not of the roles they made him play. Even when he had something to work with, he did nothing with it.

I think the standard contract back then was 6 years, assuming a show lasts that long. Then a negotiation for a 7th season. This is Terry Farrell was gone after 6. Lien was released early.

In the case of Worf and Seven, they got 3 year deals and optioned for the final season.

Perhaps, but I've always heard otherwise. Plus, 6 years seems extraordinary. Lien certainly had a three year contract

They certainly struck gold when they hired Jeri Ryan. They brought her to be a Borg babe (I remember them saying so in an interview) but she turned out to be a very good actress as well.

Pretty sure 6 years was standard at that time, since the TNG cast had the same thing. Denise asked to be let go early, as did Wil. The others signed up for a 7th. Maybe it was a Paramount thing.

Jennifer Lien, I'm almost 100 percent positive, was released early. Likely either a clause in the contract that allowed it or a big bonus check for early release.
