Taika Waititi to write and direct Thor 4

Wonder Woman definitely got the better consequences of that situation.

That was a really fun film, but it’s telegraphed ending with ‘oh look, familiar English actor we saw earlier is the baddie’ was a bit of a let down.

She was upset about Patty Jenkins, so she wasn’t interested in returning? Like that?

I'm pretty sure she had a contract for more than two films, which means that her agents had to facilitate an "early exit" from said contract.

That's not a "lack of interest" scenario, it's a "I don't want to continue working with you because I'm angry and you don't care" scenario.

So I was going to add to this discussion and then stumbled on something interesting: Jackie, as far as I can tell, is not listed on her IMDB page.

No. Better surprise and better ending than 99% of superhero movies - which are not, as a rule, clever.

I clearly don’t watch enough super hero movies.

I mean enjoyed that film, quite a lot, and still saw the ending a mile off.

Clever? "I'm not some British lord; I've secretly been Ares the whole time - which means I either took over some British lord's body at a certain age (who coincidentally looked exactly like my past self for some reason), or the British War Cabinet let some random guy into its high-level meetings. Now, excuse me while I play the role of the Cave Troll from BvS."

A random, nonsensical plot twist that doesn't actually twist the plot, followed by a bog-standard big gray villain punch-up? Sounds like sloppy writing to moi.

Agreed. It was better than any other DC movie at the time, at least those set in the post Man of Steel era, but that's certainly not saying much.

Yeah, I love the movie, but even I'll admit that ending was the weakest part by far. The Ares twist was really pretty standard for these kind of movies.

Yeah, I really doubt that's so.

Top giveaway in a lot of things...particularly Elementary....if you have seen the actor in something before, and especially if they are the big name....They did it.
Also Ares is Ares, there’s a big war going on.
It was by the numbers.
Great fun, beautifully shot, everyone in the cast was great, and it’s one of my favourite periods in history...at least the civilian side, roughly between 1910 and 1930 is....but the ending was very much not a surprise.
