A little late, but working on an Apollo-Class...

Atolm

Just my ideas to design an Apollo-class proper in honour of the Apollo missions.
Enjoy what I've got so far:

Named after the Apollo astronauts? Grissom, Shepard, Armstrong, Aldrin or the Lovell?

I like the sound of an USS Schweickart

Excuse my ignorance, any particular reason for the square saucer? Seems a bit odd seeing a ship like this :D I really like the last design though. That spine is really nice.

Digging the design. Not sure if I like the pylons on the spine better than the main hull, but it's s fun idea nonetheless. Are those bussards actual scoops? Looks like it anyway, and I like that a lot!

I like it! It looks very much like how I'd imagine an Apollo-class would look. Good job! :)
Cool! Glad we thought similar things :)

Aye Bro. Thant's why I opted her :)

Really liking this :techman::techman::techman::techman::techman:
Thanks!

I wanted to have a ship of the fleet that was not derivative of the Connie. Everything the Connie is, the Apollo is not. It was not the most graceful vessel, but it was a prototype that became a workhorse in later years.

Thanks!

Thanks Bro! I opted the spine mounted as I did not want the ship to be so wide. Angling them from there kept the ship thinner in top/bottom views and made it long-looking like a rocket.

Interesting design, will be nice to see the how she'll end up fully finished.:mallory:
Thanks! I think she shaped up okay :)

Oh, very nice pen-and-ink work, Atolm. Really liking where this design is going.
Thanks!

Atolm did you put dual turbolifts in port and starboard positions on this beauty?
Yeap. ;)

Indeed she turned out awesome, sturdy looking ship, reminds me a little of the Sidney class but more elegant.:mallory:
