The J-2 Beta class space frame was widely used in the federation for civilian, and private organizations, it was deemed worthy by starfleet as a highly adaptable spaceframe that could be retrofitted on the fly, these ships were mainly used as workhorses for starfleet, mobile construction bases for outposts, tug boats, transports and freight. This ship was retrofitted with two Nacelles instead of the standard single nacelle, the standard configuration could only reach a max cruising speed of warp 6.9, the Starfleet retrofit along with an upgraded warp core allowed a top cruising speed of warp 8.5. The deflector Dish was updated and recessed into the hull for better protection.

Quick update added details to the shuttlebay, also changed the shield color, added effects to the deflector, added the red pinstripes, made the registry more visible! Enjoy!

Nice work, I like it !

What's the rationale for the windows on the sides of the shuttle bay ? They neither appear to go through to walkways in the bay nor have corridors (or the need for corridors) within the outer hull.

Those containers look good, also nice that they look like, eh, containers, I think the ones we use now would still be made in the future since design wise they're pretty much all you need when you just need a sturdy metal box which contains yer stuff.

I think the hull is just thick enough to have corridors and so on for those windows, not entirely sure though.

The hull is thick enough, those areas around the shuttle bay have utility rooms and and some small quarters with bunk room for 4 enlisted officers, or junior officers.
Yeah, I thought that too! :) And yes there is plenty of room around the shuttle bay for corridors and bunk rooms

It's a great looking variant, I like it.
You seem to be able to produce a lot of renders very quickly - are you using Eevee real-time rendering in Blender, by any chance?

Aah I see - I usually browse the forum on mobile devices, and the signatures don't show up. You've got a lot of cool ships on that sketchfab page.
