Wow, this is a surprise! Last time I looked my entry only had two votes, so thank you to those who voted - I'm happy with that, too! I can't think of any ideas off the top of my head, but there are these in the "Can I suggest an Art Contest" thread from a couple of months ago? I also had some vague thoughts about a food-related theme. Have you got anything in mind, @SCE2Aux?
Food related sounds very intriguing, there are lots of possibilities. Food has been important in all Trek series. Kingon Gagh, Romulan Ale, Tilly making snarky comments at the passive aggressive food slots... there's no shortage of scope. An idea that I've had knocking about for a few weeks is something based around a Museum of the Federation. If you had to curate such a place, what artefacts would you have? The Federation Charter? Zefram Cochrane's jukebox? A dilithium crystal from the first commissioned starship? A Federation starmap? I don't know, I think the food one has more potential straight out the box, maybe the Federation Museum idea needs a little longer to gestate.
All I can think of now is Tilly muttering "Shut your food slot" in the manner of Scotty's "Up your shaft!" to the Excelsior's turbolift in TSFS If we do go for the food theme (although I do quite like the museum idea), shall we leave it quite open, such as food from any Star Trek era or race to give it that wide scope you mentioned?
