"Carbon Creek" is out. The story makes no sense whatsoever, plus it directly contradicts "First Contact". The velcro bit was odious. Velcro was invented in 1955 and the first Sputnik was launched in 1957!!!

Singularity has a few fun moments scattered throughout, but ultimately doesn't amount to much.

"CEASE FIRE" goes. It just wasm't that interesting.

"The Breach" because after having spent several days in a row in a toiletless shuttlepod, Trip discovers that there are such things as "poop bags". What the hell was he doing in that shuttlepod? Holding it in? The mind boggles.

Regeneration is out because of the assimilaton cure, the episode could have easily worked without Phlox almost assimilation.

It's definitely quirky. It's one of my favourites from the season, especially with Roxann Dawson 'appearing' as the station's voice.

I'm one of the weird Regeneration fans. I think it's the best Borg effort since around Scorpion. A desperate attempt to grab ratings? Well, yes it was. I think that they just made the best out of a bad hand.

Regeneration wasn't bad at all and if it wasn't for the silly assimilation cure I would have ditched Minefield. The borg only had 22nd century technology to work with so them upgrading the ship slowly so that Enterprise could defeat them makes sense.
Phlox curing his own assimilation didn't even add anything to the story, the entire subplot could have been removed and it wouldn't affect the outcome at all, it was a bit ridiculous how he came up with a cure just like that without any prior knowledge of the borg.

Phlox can cure anything... with leeches, kangaroo droppings, unicorn drool...etc... the problem is that he has some stupid ideas about evolution.

I'm also a big "Regeneration" fan! But there are certainly problems. My personal favorite is that their continuity workaround is that... the Borg just don't open with "We are the Borg." They just feel like skipping that line this time. They're workshopping some new openings...

My fandom probably mostly comes from the fact that, by all rights, this episode should be godawful, and it's somehow pretty good. It feels more impressive than it is, for exactly why @Seven of Five says, they really got a lot more out of this than they should have been able to.

It feels more impressive than it is, for exactly why @Seven of Five says, they really got a lot more out of this than they should have been able to.

Sometimes (not always, not for every case) we had better technical solutions at the past than now (and maybe still at near future) . It depends on our preference. For example lead free soldering is more complicated, expensive and unstable process than lead soldering, and so is the solder as product. Nevertheless, we know the impact of lead to environment and our health, so lead soldering is banned for so many applications in Europa (military and avionic industry still can use lead because of reliability issues). So, they are more effective than our temporary technology but they are dangerous to using at all areas.
Another good example is sound of tube receiver, they are still better than average radios of today, but they have another massive weaknesses for our technical needs, so they are effective but not compatible with modern technology.
That's why technology of ENT can be more superior/ effective than even VOY era in some aspects. I have no problem with it.

Another scifi example... the Asgard of STARGATE SG-1 needed Earth's help to combat the Replicator problem because they were too advanced to be able to effectively beat the Replicators. The Asgard needed to think backward and use less advanced tech to solve it.
