And the Next Cancelled Show is...

We did it! Just like "Orville" we pulled victory out of the mouth of defeat! Now if we could maybe get "People of Earth" back even though it's been more than a year.

Why would the or should they, renew the worst rated show on the network? I honestly don't get ABC. Unless they wanted it as filler, WB was asking for too much money. ABC cancels it and when WB sees no one else wants it they give ABC a deal? No idea how TV works anymore.

Like they canceled Body of Proof and Forever with perfectly fine ratings, but WC had HORRID ratings. I was amazed that ABC didn't cancel it sooner.

But whatever, I have never seen it so yay for the fans!

It's possible someone above simply likes the show or feels their is some potential for growth. Also maybe it does okay in key demographics or is played a lot in DVR replays. From what I understand the old style way of using ratings isn't really that accurate, at least in these days in terms of seeing if a show has fans.

I looked it up....

For the end of April to May 5th it did the second best Live+7 gains for the week at 102%. However 5.5 million in a week and a 1.0 in the demo for Live+7 is now good?

Only 2.75 million and .5 watched it live. Plus it's not owned by ABC, if it was that would make sense. Of course maybe Disney is planning on buying WB.

Just seems weird to cancel and bring back a week later.

Dammit! I started binge-watching it on my DVR in anticipation of a renewal. It still looks like they’re going to try to shop it around to see if someone else will pick it up. Such a fun show with a lot of heart and cool human interaction and characterizations. I really hope it survives elsewhere.

I'm really interested to see if The Enemy Within is renewed. In a market of terrorists shows created by 24 and over saturated since, it didn't really stand out.

It has Morris Chestnut mis-cast in the lead male role, has not fully recognized any of its characters and built up its baddie as this super smart, super slippery man, who had spent decades in the KGB and eluding capture who sets up this master plan and it is attack a cabin in the middle of nowhere with a handful of CIA agents in it and breaking into a prison to get a couple of his compatriots out and then gets easily fooled by Sheppard, who had nothing of value for him that he didn't already have. They decide to throw in a line about someone in the government helping him to set up a Season 2, but had pretty much, quickly, buttoned this storyline.

It could be a strong show, but it needs to figure itself out.

I was shocked when The Enemy Within, already with three interchangeable and forgettable supporting agents, added a fourth for no reason.

Did it ever get better? The first few episodes were really bad but it had a lot of potential.
Significantly better (but YMMV) in the last few of season one, and much better in season two. If the revenge plot of season one didn’t suit you, it is gone in season two.

Exactly. I am convinced the blonde tech girl (see I don't even know their names) is some kind of Tal operative, but other than that, why bring in another person to be background?

It seemed like they were going somewhere with the interrogation specialist who didn't agree with the team leader's methods of doing things, but nothing ever became of it. The third guy just seemed to be Action Scene Agent. And then the female they added became Other Action Scene Agent.
