Unpopular Trek opinions game

Unpopular opinion: It's completely unbelievable that by the end of Chain Of Command, Picard could just take his job back as if nothing happened. In an organization like Starfleet, there would have been a mandatory psych evaluation after such a terrible experience and it's more than likely that Picard would have been ordered to stand down for a few months before he could dream to have his ship back.

I never saw it as bigotry. She had a character arc where she changed and learned, which is more then Crusher ever got. Plus, Data wasn't a whole race, and pre Measure of a Man wasn't considered alive. She didn't know him yet, or anyone like him anywhere else. She lacked knowledge, and quickly came to change her approach once more information was at her disposal.

I can see that, which is why I put bigotry in quotes. It wasn't bigotry in the sense of race bigotry. But more that in the beginning she made some assumptions about Data simply because he was a machine and not organic. But yeah, as she learned more about him and got to know him her attitude towards him changed

And "Q-Pid" gave us Worf's best line ever: "I am NOT a Merry Man."

I also can't help but like the scene when Geordi is plucking his yuke, or whatever it was and Worf came over and said "Excuse me" (or something like that) takes the yuke and smashes against a tree, then gives it back to Geordi, shrugs and says "Sorry"

(Very) unpopular opinion: I don't think they've ever proven that Data was more sentient than a toaster. For one thing, I don't buy the "I don't have emotions but I still care about people bit.". We pretend to accept that Data is sentient the way we go along with Superman flies with a cape, but deep down we know that it's wrong.

^ Agree, I don't know exactly how you would go about proving Data's (or my own) sentience, but they didn't do it.

Data obviously is/had a advance computer, that's not in question. But did he possess a mind?

Straight out of the movie "Animal House."

Isn't that what he was doing in his ready room with Troi at the end of the episode?

He didn't stand down for months after being locutus. He did take some time but for the most part it was back to normal within a couple episodes

It's completely unreasonable that Picard would have been returned to active duty AT ALL after the events of Best of Both Worlds.

/\ that would depend on whether picard's experience faded fairly quick to being a particular vivid dream and not a mult-decade reality.

it had a impact, but did picard personally feel like he had been away from the enterprise more than a hour the next week?

If watching Star Trek: First Contact has done anything for me, it's proven he has long term issues, & even suggested he may not be completely removed from his link to them or at least an influence of theirs. That right there ought to be reason enough to say "Aww Hell No!"

Another unpopular opinion. Troi watching over Picard's shoulder him admiring Nella Daren in Lessons, during her concert, is creepy AF.

Yes, and it's even more unbelievable! I mean what if he had been brainwashed by the experience, in addition to the crippling PTSD? I mean we clearly are in a world of fantasy, cartoonishly so.

A few seasons later, Picard said Starfleet would strip him down to his bare wires because he was acting strange.

They never should have made Kirk captain of the Enterprise at the end of Trek 2009. Possibly messed up the entire series.

In Star Trek First Contact, the first 25 minutes are good, but the rest wasn't all that great. Good, but kind of overrated.

Unpopular opinion: The Ferengi are the most brilliant creation to come out of TNG. Humanity currently is the Ferengi. LIke to the point where it's no longer funny.

Unpopular Opinion: As a recurring character Crusher was way worse than Pulaski, I could list the reasons why but I am afraid I'll get writer's cramp.
