I LOVE PREY. It's so much fun. I agree about the story being rather deep for what it was.

I didn't like the auto camera in Remember Me it put me sometimes in awkward spots where I couldn't see stuff instead you see the back of Nilin's head or her bum and not what you want. Though as I said the Sensen keeps making me think of fried egg floating behind her.

The angel robots always made me think of Disco lol.

I had a job interview today. I met all the qualifications. I hit all the marks. A steady job instead of just contract work. I hope I got it. Trying to keep my mind off how it went. Might as well put on the rest of DSC Season 2. Five episodes left to re-watch, so I might as well burn through them. All I'll be doing otherwise is staring into space wide-awake all night.

"Try" is right. I'm not as flexible as I used to be. Lately, it's not as easy to get up if I've been sitting down too long. Hello 40. You can go away now. :p

I just do child's pose, with my head resting on the floor. It triggers a relaxation point on the forehead. You can also use corpse pose, laying on the ground, palms turned up right. It triggers the parasympathetic response and helps reducing symptoms of anxiety in the body. Another one is legs up the wall, which promotes blood flow to the heart and brain, since anxiety moves blood to the extremities.

Finally, slowing your breathing can never hurt :)

Also, I'm 35 and it took me time to get in to it. I'm not flexible but it helps the head pain.

Blending exercise with DSC, if you do some light or intense exercise during commercial breaks, that can add up over time. Or do exercise every time Spock says "Michael," and extra reps when he says "Michael Burnham." It's kind of the reverse of a drinking game.

It's way up thread, don't want to scroll for it now, but I noticed the flash of the Red Angel at the end of the scene, after Spock smashed the chess set and Burnham reported to the bridge in "Project Daedalus".

After all the posturing I've seen here elsewhere recently, I loved Burnham's line to Spock, telling him to stop posturing.

Cornwell's line to Pike of "We wanted the best to survive" if something went wrong during the Klingon War, pretty much is the PR Answer. Pike would've questioned what Cornwell and Starfleet Command wanted to do at every turn.

Control. It made me think. Cyber Warfare. Taking control of everything, hacking everything. It would be very dangerous IRL, if our defense systems were ever hacked into. Scary stuff. That's not sci-fi anymore. Even as recently as the BSG mini-series, right before the dawn of Web 2.0, my mind still thought of it more as "sci-fi" than "real world", so it's more disturbing to me now than it was in the past.

Too bad Airiam had an internal network that could be hacked into. Control took control of her and basically possessed her but it was smarter for them to later on go with Leland after they killed him. That way there's no other mind to fight back. With Airiam's soul not extinguished, she was able to get Nhan to open the airlock on her.

The whole thing with Airiam kind of annoyed me in that it seems terrible design. Yes she has all these cybernetic parts that keep her alive but they are on an internal network for no good reason. She still has her human brain and all why the limbs and stuff couldn't have been controlled directly from that without the need for some kind of internal network. Even today artificial arms are controlled directly via nerve impulses, no network required.

She had control of her mind but not her body as that was on remote. So that would also have been terrifying for her to go through. She was warning Tilly over the comms.

I assume whatever nerve damage she suffered that had to be fixed with cybernetics allowed a backdoor into being compromised and rerouted.

In other words those nerve impulses she might used to control her limbs were under another's control. It's like the automatic defibrillator I got sitting in my chest now. It has bluetooth capability so it can connect to this base station and from there give reports on its battery functions etc that can route through to my phone or to the monitoring station at the doctor if need be. Thankfully it's not two-way or I'd be within someone guessing a 4 digit code from anonymously killing me with keystroke. But I wont lie, I do think about it.

That video was fantastic. OK makes me think more on how Airiam was compromised. Yet she was able to warn Tilly so it wasn't complete control just her limbs and computer parts.

Are they people who thought we'd see Romulans in 23rd Century DSC surprised that we didn't?

Specifying 23rd Century because for all we know they might show up in Season 3.

I wasn't surprised we didn't see them during the first two seasons but I was hoping eventually we would. Just because Starfleet didn't have eye-to-eye contact with them, doesn't mean the Klingons or Section 31 couldn't have. There could've been a whole B-story throughout a season. I'm hoping we still get that with the S31 Series.

Or there could've been the Disco Cliche of "Discovery encountered them, but it's been classified!" :p

With the state of the Romulans as it is in Picard, and post-2387 in general, we'll only get a chance to see the Romulan Empire in its prime again in series set during the TOS Era.

I suspect they decided there was already too much going on in Season 2 to reintroduce the Romulans. They're saying them for STPicard and the Sec31 show, my guess.
