I'm not saying it's a failure (I haven't seen it). Just seems that the description from the previous post could certainly be read as damning it with faint praise...

Another reading could be that it set expectations and actually achieved them.

It is known yet, which writers are returning or which new ones are joining for season 3? Alex Kurtzman and Michelle Paradise are known already. Kirsten Beyer seems to be back as well. Bo Yeon Kim and Erika Lippoldt are also properly returning at least until their showrunning duties on the Georgiou spinoff begin. James Duff seems to have moved over to the Picard series. I think Ted Sullivan has left, though that is just a guess. He was Discoverys "main cheerleader" during the production of season 1 and season 2, doing lots of press and promoting the show on Twitter. But shortly after seasons 2 finished production there was nothing more Discovery related on his Twitter feed, even when season 2 was airing. He wrote some favourite episodes of mine, so I hope I wrong.
