I have a feeling you wouldn’t know real tyranny if it bit you in the rear end.

What a relief! The Orville is a very bright dot in a dark landscape, and I'm glad it has been renewed. ♥

I wonder what all Seth got for the Orville? To be a fly on that wall during contract negotiations.
BTW, California (by itself) is the 5th largest economy in the world. Besides the occasional massive earthquake, the weather is also pretty nice year round.

That's pretty good news. The Second Season was actually quite boring for most of its run but the last two episodes brought back the adventure.

Good news. Now.we.get to see if they did a total reset or if there are some holdover effects from the finale

Great news. And as a tax paying California resident: you are welcome.

    YAY! Praise Avis!

So when can we expect this to air? Obviously not the fall, would next spring be too early? Hmm, I wonder, is it possible this may not start filming until July or so, like Disco's season 3? Meaning that these shows will likely air at around the same time again, proving they shall forever be joined at the hip?
If it offends you, don't watch the show. That way you won't be supporting such "evil" practices.

Although I gave up on the show, I'm happy for the fans! :)

I wonder if The Orville could introduced highly evolved, interdimensional beings like the Organians and Q?

It's one Trek trope they have yet to mine, so I wouldn't be surprised if we saw it in the third season.

Not that I mind the mining of Trek tropes at all...I like the Orville's take on them.

Seriously though, I really enjoyed Season 2 and I felt they found their groove with character-focused, lower-stakes drama. I hope they continue in the same vein rather than make some failed feint to "go big" in an effort to entice more viewers.

    I don't see why they couldn't.

California taxpayer here who is perfectly fine with tax incentives to retain entertainment industry jobs, thanks. Do you even live here? The population (40 million+ people) and economy (5th largest in the world, ahead of Britain) are healthy and growing, and as usual, you don't have the first clue what you're talking about. You talk about your concern for the little guy and then shit on union labor which protects the little guy from exploitation. Aren't you into film and TV composing? So you don't support the musicians and composers unions that look out for them?

Also getting a little tired of people inserting their unsolicited political whining into unrelated threads lately. If the show or movie brings up a political issue, then that's fair game. Otherwise, keep that shit to yourself or go start a thread about it in Misc. or TNZ. People are being driven away from the SF&F threads and the forum by all the extraneous political bullshit.

Anyway, this is great news. Glad to have The Orville back for another season. :techman:

I too am a California Taxpayer, and while I have many issues with this state, having an industry that seems to be losing jobs left and right to places like Toronto, Vancouver and Georgia be able to keep filming in California and provide more jobs for people in said industry, I think that's a good thing.

Son, you are entirely misinformed and mistaken here and your post demonstrates no understanding whatever of politics or economics - which is certainly congruent with the character of the worthless politician in your avatar, I'll give you that.

    Now, let's discuss The Orville.
