She finally admitted that she was upset that renewal meant giving up another project, which is what she should've said from the start to deal with the blowback. She's still trying to spin it though by saying people were making assumptions about her initial reaction.
Which is just sad since she had to hit reply and compose those messages..........not like she was ambushed on the street with the news.
Does anyone remember how Pierce Brosnan handled losing Bond due to Remington Steele? Although in his case, that was a different scenario. The show had been cancelled, but then they brought it back to ride the coattails of his Bond announcement, even though they were actively preventing him from being Bond. Then the show returned with a whimper and they cancelled it again.
For those of you (myself included) who don't hang out in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy forum, Fox has renewed The Orville for a third season. https://deadline.com/2019/05/the-orville-renewed-season-3-fox-1202612705/
I must be missing some of this story regards Weatherly. He made crude jokes regards something in the script which offended an actress. He apologised. She played three episodes. She was fired. Weatherly is blamed for the firing. He says he had nothing to do with it. Moral of the story? Don't make jokes and if you are fired bring as many people down with you as you can.
Funny how some people get away saying all sorts of crap though and others don't. I think we live in a messed up world.
Eliza Dushku wrote an op-ed on the subject: https://www.bostonglobe.com/opinion...d-was-fired/OCh7h0pwg4Aq7xfwOUasyO/story.html
I don't remember that as I was like two, but that sounds completely different to me. Wu is just a piece of shit who can't even cover up the fact she is a piece of shit. She could have came out and went 'Fuck, this means I'll miss out on this project I was really looking forward to do. I hope the studios can work around my schedule as I'd like to do both'. Instead she was a piece of shit who blamed others for her stupidity and shittiness. If she was a man she could easily pass as an ex of mine.
read the piece at the time it came out which is why I wonder how in this day and age, bull it still on air.
It's been a little while since I read the reports so I don't remember the exact details now, but the behavior was worse than a few off-color jokes. It seemed like some textbook examples of sexual harassment, for which an employee in most other industries would have been fired. But because he's the star of the show, and friends with those in charge, she got fired instead.
Yeah I think he wanted her go have sex with him in his car or something. I recall it being worst than even grabbing someone's butt or saying filthy things to her. He was trying to pressure her into sex. Jason
