I think Kimbrel is doing the same tactic and I think he's also overestimating his worth, especially since he's a reliever. Doesn't help any that both of them are at least 30.
The Cubs have activated Mike Montgomery, placed Ben Zobrist on the restricted list (he's been given a leave of absence for personal reasons), moved Pedro Strop to the IL.
And Addison Russell is starting at 2B tonight.
If you saw Pedro blow that Marlins game two nights ago with 3 walks, you's have assumed he was injured. I hope Montgomery is back in form and hope everything's OK with Z.
As I recall, Zobrist has a very badly ill family member. The team has kept quiet about it, but he took leave during spring training for the same reason and it was hinted through the media that it's either his wife or his son.

Double ouch.
Edit: As someone who knows firsthand just how deeply divorce impacts both the mind and the soul, I genuinely hope they can get through this process with kind hearts and without cruelty towards one another.

I googled the "inappropriate marital conduct" thing, and even there it says more often than not, both parties put that in as reason. Dueling lawyers and all.
I hope Zo gets his head straight and can come back strong.
