Agents of SHIELD: Season 6

I thought AoSHIELD season 6 was to be set in the first post-Snap year.

It's set a year after last season, but it doesn't address the Snap, because the producers weren't sure whether the season would premiere before or after Endgame came out. Hence the continuity/timeline issue.

Indeed. I expect...

The Elementals are from an alternative universe but Mysterio isn't, pretending he is for whatever reason. Maybe as far as Fury as actually The Chameleon in disguise to cover for the fact that Fury isn't able to tell that Mysterio isn't from an alternative universe.
My thought is even simpler:

None of them are. The Elementals are just Mysterio's illusions.

That being said, I love that they can draw from the Ultimate Universe and Spider-Men to keep us guessing.

Yeah, that was the original speculation after the first trailer, one that I agreed with. I'm only adjusting my guess now because I love the idea of the Snaps poking holes into alternative universes and it makes sense for creatures like the Elementals coming from such places. Plus, as already speculated in this thread and others, this gives an opening for the X-Men and mutants in general to be introduced in the MCU.

I dunno, it seems having everything turn out to be illusions would be kind of a small-scale, anticlimactic story for the final Phase 3 film. I mean, sure, everything after Endgame is anticlimactic, but I suspect they wouldn't want it to be that anticlimactic.

Also, Nick Fury is not that easily fooled. I have a hard time believing he'd be taken in by a mere charlatan. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if he already knows that Mysterio's deceiving him and has recruited Spidey as part of some devious plan to trick the trickster.

Which is why I suggested the Chameleon is masquerading as Fury. It's convoluted, I admit, but it's also slightly supported by Numan Acar's casting as "Dmitri."

But I get your point and I realize I'm trying to have my cake and eat it, too.

Season premiere clip on Entertainment Weekly's website.
Pretty cool scene. I love the aliens reactions after they see who they are dealing with, it definitely seems like Quake's reputation has made it pretty far. I love that we've reached a point in the show where we're seeing the characters travel to other planets.
Is Daisy known as the Destroy of Worlds in the present, or was that just in the future after the Earth was mostly destroyed?

Regarding the Disney+ shows: Feige did mention last month that the shows would be pushing things forward in the MCU and would have direct impact for the films, or something along those lines. I think the bigger question is when we'll be seeing each of the shows.
Funny - they said AoS would do the same thing; but other than the tie in to Captain America: Winter Soldier (which was great); after that the 'tie in aspect' pretty much petered out aside from a tangental mention of something here and there related to a MCU film. I think the fact is - the TV/Streaming series move so fast that it's really hard to try and tie anything to an MCU film unless they really make an effort to coordinate and no 'snafus' happen to the film WRT editing something out related to the TV tie in, production delay/change to the film release date, etc.

The fact the CA:TWS tie in worked so well, was probably more due to really good luck than anything else.

The budget must be much higher because that was some gorgeous alien surface. Although, I guess, not too high considering the alien make-up was pretty damn weak.

That's a fair point, but I feel like they'll have better control over such things with Disney+ considering its their own streaming platform, instead of having to deal with ABC honchos.

That's because the schism happened between the movie and TV divisions of Marvel Studios. After that point, AoS wasn't able to tie into the movies as directly as it could before, since the TV division was no longer in the loop. But the Disney+ shows are going to be made by the movie division, so it's a fundamentally different situation.
